Okay we had one of these for Harmonium, and i've seen some mixed thoughts on what should be released so far Hands On Me & Home seem to be 1# for the 2nd single but how would you direct the album if you were Nessa?
Well this is my one 8O
1st single : Hands On Me - Very upbeat and will most likely fit in with todays choice of music.
2nd single : Home - Great for the new fans of Hands On Me and it'll go on to show how Nessa really is.
3rd single : Nolita Fairytale - Just to get more personal, and open up.
4th single : Heroes & Thieves, or Spring Street - Both wonderful songs. Heroes and Thieves will be very nice as a later single just to top off most of the album. and Spring Street, because this will be very popular if it were released.. i would assume
5th single : More Than This - Just to finish the releases, and a political video, eg. A video showing soldiers coming home, and there families hugging them, then showing all the torture they suffer. I think it'll be so sad. [but in an insperational sad...]
It's just so insperational and magical.
-
1st single - "Nolita Fairytale"
2nd single - "Hands On Me"
3rd single - "Come Undone"
4th single - "Home"
If there's a 5th single....
"More Than This"
-
1. "Hands on Me"
2. "More Than This
3. "Home"
4. "Spring Street"
-
SPRING STREET!
-
1.nolita fairytale (i thought it is a good "comeback song" it sorda says this is whats been up but now im back)
2.home (not the most upbeat but the message would relate so people would probably like it)
3.hands on me (i love it!)
4.heroes and thieves
-
1st single : Nolita Fairytale - The perfect one to start the album
2nd single : Hands on Me - Great music for a second single, this should give an big UP to her career... Can bring a great video (on the second verse ("subway radiates..." I can picture Vanessa beautiful on a subway hall... something like the movie "Irréversible" with Monica Bellucci)!! The beats and everything else... can be a great danceclub remix either!!
3rd single : This Time - Sweet, simple... great as ballad
4th single : Fools Like Me - it's so Catchy...
5th single : More Than This - Amazing to finish the releases... It can give an amazing video!
-
1st single - "Nolita Fairytale"
2nd single - "The One"
3rd single - "Hands on Me"
4th single - "Heroes and Thieves"
-
2nd- " Home" and it should be released the week before Thanksgiving. I think it would soar up the charts if she did that
3rd- More than this
-
1st "Nolita Fairytale" this was the best choice for a 'comeback'.
2 "Hands On Me" this would work better than "Home" for the ballad single. And it's so universal, I'm sure it'll be a hit!
3th "Heroes & Thieves".
4th "This Time" or "Home" or "More Than This", one of these is good.
If she gets more singles, I guess they'll end it at 4.
-
I think her next single should be Come Undone. I think it works best for radio. Then probably Hands On Me.
Any producer of an inspirational film should be DYING to have More Than This on the soundtrack. Not necessarily the first half, but every time I listen to the second half, I hear the choir and the lyrics (don't live in forgotten times, soldiers and heroes come home, let's make this our story, let's live in the glory) as part of a movie preview.
-
I don't think she'd possibly do more than 4 singles, and I'd suggest:
1. Nolita Fairytale (bc it is, haha)
2. Hands On Me (bc it is the 2nd single already in case NF doesn't do well, right?)
3. Spring Street (I'd just go with this bc I think it's got a more universal sound and appeal that people would go for, V fans or not)
And I haven't listened to the rest of the album enough yet to make a 4th single decision. The 3rd or 4th single is usually some sort of ballad. But honestly, I don't see what everyone hears in More Than This yet. I guess it has to grow on me. So I might say Home.
-
I'm gonna count how many people have been saying each song.
Hands On Me: 8
Home: 6
This Time: 2
Fools Like Me: 1
Spring Street: 4
Heroes and Thieves: 4
More Than This: 6
Nolita Fairytale: 8
Come Undone: 2
The One: 1
My Best hasn't been chosen once
So by order POPULAR demand they'd be like this
1st single : Hands On Me or Nolita Fairytale
2nd single : Home or More Than This
3rd single : Heroes & Thieves
4th single : Spring Street
But if only 4 were released i think it'd be the first 4 i mentioned [HOM,NF,H,MTT]
-
More than this HAS to be a single!
xoxo
-
I think it's too long to be a single.
What happens a lot is people confuse what songs are their favorites with which would work best as singles. Not the same at all.
-
1. Nolita Fairytale
2. Hands On Me
3. Come Undone
4. Home
5. Spring Street
-
Well i actually think More Than This is very likely to be a successful single...
-
I ADORE more than this.....But i just cant hear it on the radio...not meaning to belittle the radio, but it's almost too good for it...in the general concensus.....i just dont see it fitting in with all the other stuff radio stations usually play........generally meant of course...
I think hands on me would fit in more with those songs....it's not the same animal, but it could blend in....
-
2nd Single - Hands On Me. It is quite catchy and I think it will do well.
3rd Single - Home. This song is so universal and beautiful.
4th Single - Spring Street. Amazing song with a great vibe. The nananananana's are catchy.
5th Single - Toss up between Fools Like Me, This Time, Heroes and Thieves, Come Undone, or My Best. Don't know which to pick.
-

Yeah, I agree with all of that. I hear that in "More Than This" too.
"Come Undone" would be a really good single. I think radio would eat it up. It's really radio friendly.
-
Home or This Time
-
1. Nolita Fairytale
2. Hands on me
3. Spring Street
4. My best
-
1. Nolita Fairytale.
2. Hands On Me -- as much as I like the US Open version better, this has the best potential to be a strong 2nd single
3. Heroes and Thieves -- Very catchy melody, I could hear this on the radio.
4. Home -- The strongest track on the album, I think this would be a great way to close out the HAT singles.
-
I think Hands on Me should be next, then Home, then This Time, and if there is a fifth single, The One. But they should cut out Stevie's vocals. LOL.
-
I do know there's a difference between a good song and a good son for radio. But I honestly think "More Than This" is a good song for radio. It's got that epic ending people could sing along to for years!
-
I have this image of Vanessa performing "More Than This" at one of those music award shows...The spotlight on her, then gradually through the song, the orchestra gets revealed...and then the choir and as V finishes those last lines "'Cause someday we'll be gone..." she gets a standing ovation from the crowd...
Ahhh.
-
I really hope "Hands On Me" gets released next. Many of us think so. So next single please.
-
Home
H&T
HOM
Come Undone
-
heres what i'd do.
2nd Single: Hands on Me
3rd Single: Come Undone OR Spring Street
4th Single: More Than This
-
I agree Come Undone would be very good single. But i just think it'd get many fans :? Although I love it!
But Hands On Me,Home, Spring Street are the most possibly successful in my opinion.
-
2nd. Hands On Me
3rd. Home
4th. Spring Street
-
Ignore Post.
-
i'm not sure if i want an exact order, but "home", "fools like me"& "spring street" would make amazing singles.
-
1. Nolita Fairytale
2. Hands On Me
3. This Time (overproduce it first)
4. Home (snip the last minute)
Nolita really sets the mood for the entire album. Hands On Me is rather reminiscent of the old BNN minor key songs (when I played the intro my friend said it wa sreally dperessing), but still upbeat, catchy and polished enough to get anywhere. With a little more additions This Time would do pretty well in my opinion, and Home would definitely close the singles providing the outro is cut out.
-
Uhh, here's mine...
1) Nolita Fairytale. (Gives us an insight onto where she's been)
2) Home/The One (One or the other. They're both ballads)
3) Spring Street/Fools Like Me (They speak to me most)
4) More Than This/Heroes & Thieves (They'd both be great singles)
And if there were fifth single
5) This Time/Hands On Me (They've both been here from the beginning of the Heroes & Thieves era.
-
Yea, I agree. More than this is probably too long.
Hmm I think the general Consensus is either Home or Hands On Me. So difficult to choose.......
-
1) nolita fayritale
2) Come undone
3) Hands On Me
4) The One
-
i think more than 3 singles is quite unrealistic from this record. I would like it to be, and think it might end up being:
1) Nolita Fairytale
2) Hands on Me
3) Home (single version, first 4 minutes)
-
Spring Street would probably do well on the radio but ugh it's so boring... I'd probably turn it off
-
I'd release them all but if I had to choose 3 it would have to be
Hands on Me
Spring Street
The One
-
Nolita Fairytale
Hands on Me
Come Undone
IF there is a fourth single, Home definitely.
-
Why would you people pick Home? It's not commercial enough, I don't think it will do very well if it was released....it's too slow.
-
As a final single, it would work. Most people release the big ballad last (like Christina Aguilera's "The Voice Within"), when promo slows down.
And I find Home to be very commercial.
-

i have to agree with you.

I think Home is one of the strongest and one of the most probable to be a single on the album. The song has an amazing catchy chorus and would be the best ballad to release, IMO, from the album. After hearing the studio versions of everything i would be very happy if Hands on Me was the 2nd single, Home was the 3rd, and Spring Street was the 4th...
Besides, we already know that V and Irv are considering the song as a single so they must believe in it...
-
More Than This- I'ts been in my head for the past two days just an amazing song
Come Undone-As i said once before one of those drivin down the highway lovin life kinda songs
Spring Street-I love the message behind the song despite all the nana's
-

Slow doesn't necessarily mean people won't buy it. Don't Know Why was slow but it was on the top 100 for over a year. Home is a beautiful song with an amazing ending and can get an audience. It might not be the KIIS audience but there is a KOST audience. I think Vanessa will want to branch away from the pop area because that's where all the people think she's just the ATM girl. Stevie made a good career in the easy listening genre.

Norah Jones did have a hit with a slow song, but in V's case, it starts slow and then builds. I don't know if people are patient to wait around and hear the whole song. I just think it wouldn't be a wise choice.
-
Home is too slow! You need a song that immediatly catches your attention, like....spring street. heroes and thieves should get released just cause its the album's name :D
-
You actually think Spring Street would sell better than Home? I think people here are more interested in their personal preference than the general listening audience. I would put money on it that Home would sell more in a week than Spring Street would in a month
-
well I think home is more deeper than Spring Street but how whoever said it (forgot) people are not going to want to wait for the song to get all fast and stuff I mean I would but with todays society most people would not. I don't know mabey they can release a radio friendly version or something.
-
who says that a song has to get fast at some point. I get it everyone here apparently loves fast songs. I'm not one of them but I think Vanessa might want to branch out from being just a pop artist and I think that would be a smart move because there's a window for a pop career and I want her to stay around for a long time.

It's not that we all like fast songs, I just don't think Home is commercial enough to sell an album.
Personally, I think Hands On Me would be good choice because it's really catchy.

I agree .

Some of the biggest songs in the world are slower songs. Home is incredibly catchy and commercial, as is Hands on Me. I would want Home to close out the album's singles though, as it seems the perfect ending point.

Home

HOM
Come Undone
right now I would change it to:
Home
My Best
H&T
Come Undone
-
Let me offer my opinion...
1. Nolita Fairytale
2. Hands on Me
3. Fools Like Me
4. Home
5. Heroes & Thieves
-
I'm pretty sure Vanessa will release a single of a song co-written with Linda Perry. maybe "Spring Street" as third single...
that wouldn't be a surprise for me if "Hand on me" would be the next single.
