Polls / do you think that nessa looks like a young cher?
« on: May 01, 2003, 06:30:49 pm »
Just a little bit... the hair and the very oval face shape. But Cher has sucky-inny cheeks whereas VC has puffy-outy ones. Oh yeah, and Cher is a skanky poo whereas VC is a babe.

Polls / What do you call Vanessa?
« on: May 01, 2003, 03:24:44 pm »
I certainly have issues, but I just refer to her as "Vanessa Carlton". With a pause. Like, you know, what her name is. So I voted "other". :)

Now then, I am thinking about nikkee and VC being girlfriends. I need a cold shower.

Polls / Fave genre of music?
« on: May 01, 2003, 03:17:49 pm »
well I voted "folk" but that encompasses a fairly large range of styles. I tend to like modern jazz/funk/techno/Euro folk fusion type affairs (not singy stuff and not accoustic usually).

I'm a big fan of classical piano music too (all periods) and trashy pop. Yeah!!

Well I went for Italian, because I love lasagne and pizza and pasta, but I also love Mexican, Chinese, Indian and Thai.

English should be on there dammit - there are loads of quality English dishes (especially puddings).

Well done. Driving is fun... I've only written off about 3 cars (or was it 4?).

Polls / who was the most influential artist of the 20th century?

Quote from: "kiisnsync"
i dont mean that kinda artist, lol, think musician!

It was a doke.. you know... ha ha! Or something.

Thinking musically, I have to concur with The Beatles' nominators.

Others that spring to mind (baring in mind that "influential" doesn't necessarily mean "good"):
Britney!!
Early boy bands (NKOTB? Take That... I dunno - not my field of expertise)
Run DMC
A lot of people I know would say Martin Carthy. Or maybe a group like Fairport Convention. Ooo! Wait... Blowzabella! (don't worry if you don't have a clue...)
Gotta have Elvis, if only for all the impersonators :)
I agree with Ms Posy r.e. The Smiths (although it does mean admitting to sharing taste with Terry Christian)
Radiohead
Whoever did the first dance tracks

the animation sucks when you see them now but I'll always have a soft spot for the classic early season episodes like Krusty Gets Busted and Bart the Daredevil.

I didn't vote, because there wasn't an option for "I'd rather chew my own legs off than listen to any of them."

isn't celery one of those foods that take more energy to eat than the value they contain? So you'll waste away...
