What is your opinion...?
Btw, I have a myspace...

Myspace is a cesspool with a crappy, unscalable architecture. It is written by clueless programmers. It allows users who really shouldn't be doing design to do so, bringing us back to Geocities, circa 1999. I only have an account because it is the only way I can keep in touch with some of my friends.
Facebook is infinitely better than Myspace.

People go through the whole personal site trend. It went from LiveJournal to Xanga to MySpace, all of which are exchangable with MySpace in the quote above.
I hate it, but I have one, cause I have a lot of friends who use it. I don't like it, and never go on it though. Why can't people design their own damn website? I started designing when I was eleven and there are 25 year-olds on MySpace who can't even make a MySpace without blinding you. Laziness. The deadly sin of sloth.

The people on livejournal, in general, have some taste. The people on myspace, in general, do not.

I have a personal page but most my MySpace time is spent on the Artist Page for TY (http://www.myspace.com/tradingyesterday) approving friend requests and answering FAQ type messages.
The site as a whole however was written badly by Tom who one day will have a daily appointment with Satan to have a pineapple inserted in the other end.
-
I use it to keep up with friends that I don't see often in real life or have never met in real life (like most of you on here). I also like the pretty pictures and I write weblog entries when I feel like it, which isn't often. I don't have the time or interest to try to customize my page, though.

I like it because it is good exposure for artists, and free. I am going to create my own website, but not just yet. When I have a website, my myspace page will be secondary. I do agree that some people have no taste, and their pages look cluttered and silly and hard on the eyes. It's the same for how people dress in real life though. It also sickens me to randomly come across 14 year olds who write "SEX!"under their interests...

I love it for info on bands and shows, really keeps me up to date... though right now I've basically stopped using it for certain circumstances, of which have led me to reeeeally not like myspace nearly as much as I once did.

Tom is NOT my friend.

I don't use it anymore. I'm so over MySpace.

Tom is NOT my friend.
I have a t-shirt that says that. :)

I saw one online that said "Tom is my only friend"

I had to choose the "it's fab!" one 'cause I do have an artist page & I definitely use it...but I don't really think myspace is necessarily fabulous. lol.

Designing a website's more fun. It's better to say, "wow, I did this with Notepad and Paint", looking at the finished product, than "I chose the colors lime green and sunny yellow and now I can't see!"
-
I like it for keeping in touch with people and finding out about new artists. I have a grip of friends on there I like to keep in touch with, but I'd be willing to bet over half the people I've friended are musicians.

I should mention that this week, for the first time, MySpace has surpassed Yahoo! Mail to become the most visited website.
-
Really? It's only the first time? I thought that it would have passed something like Yahoo long ago.
