question about PMs

I was just wondering, do all the PMs you send end up in the sentbox?  Because I've sent a couple PMs recently and they aren't in there... does that mean that for some reason the PM didn't get sent?  It didn't appear like it errored...

My understanding of the phpBB PM system (after extensive testing, seriously) is this:

1) You send a message
2) Until the person reads it, it is in your Outbox
3) Once read, the message is placed in your Sent box

oh wow... lol, so you can actually tell when people read your PMs!  Lol, nice.
