That could be it... I have no clue. It just struck me as kinda strange.

And San Fran too? It's nice that she's getting GAP airplay but sadly people probably hear it and don't even really know who she is unless they recognize her singing voice or something. :?

Anyways, another Nessa hearing: At my school before dances we do requests for songs and they were playing "White Houses" which is very unusual because they would never play that at a dance of our's. Our dances are always very hip hop.

When I ordered BNN, the only song I knew was White Houses (which I'd heard over the offical website, but since it was BNN I ordered, I actually didn't know any of the songs), but I regonised ATM when I heard it.
Even though I'm happy they give her airtime, it bugs me it's only ATM, considering she has released three singels and an album after it. But it's better than nothing :)

as far as I understood Vanity meant that she knew only WH and then she found BNN. At the time of ordering BNN the only nessa song she knew was WH

Yes, that's what I meant :D But when I heard the record, I recognized ATM, which was the whole point of the story :)

I was eating a sandwich, threw it across the table. I was getting so excited. Once i realized that i couldn't hold in my exitement, i calmly grabbed my sandwich and sat down. I got a lot of strange stares from then on..... :wink:

So I left fye walking down through the mall until it was over and I was at Bookland, so I went inside and looked around and saw that the White Stripes are on this month's Mojo. Back on topic, though, I heard "This Time" today in the oddest of places: My computer operations classroom! We were doing an exercise on file extensions (mainly for the new people), and the instructor was demonstrating how you can associate a certain file extension with different applications. He was using .mp3 as the example, which was originally associated with Windows Media Player, and he showed us how to change it to iTunes and then change it back. He browsed the server here at the school for an .mp3 file to use for the demonstration, and he found a folder where I had temporarily put some files, and chose "This Time" by Vanessa Carlton for the demonstration.

I was in Sport Chalet, looking with my boyfriend at some UnderArmor stuff and a Thousand Miles comes on...I mean its a SPORTING GOODS STORE, what is it doing playing Vanessa Carlton. I was dancing around, moving towards the speakers, so I can hear every bit of the song, my boyfriend just stared at me quizzically, it was great...

Another time I was in this ghetto mexican grocery store, and they played white houses, and I was singing to it, and people were staring, and I just giggled and sang anyway....

In Robinson's May, they played Pretty Baby just as I was about to leave, and I was holding my boyfriend's hand, and I stopped walking, because I heard the opening, and I knew it was Pretty Baby. I stopped, but my boyfriend didn't, and I got jerked like a little terrier on a leash....but then I dragged him over to a speaker so I could listen...it was funny because he just said, "Why can't you just listen to it later, in the car?" and I was like, "If you are a true nessa fan, you would understand....its not the same, now shut up so I can hear!!!"

I love Vanessa...

You know i dont understand why Starbucks doesn't play her music, because its really good mood music, and its really awesome....I work at one, and I have always wondered why they choose to play the same damn 30 songs or so over and over...without one of them being nessa....sigh....

you think i should write a letter to the board? we have these little forms we can fill out, sort of a sugesstion box type thing...

i was eatting breakfast at the MGM Grand at the Studio Cafe. My family and i were waiting for breakfast when, all of a sudden, ATM plays in the restruant. I was going crazy. My mom called me retarted...i was soo excited that i heard ATM, in VEGAS...oh boy, i love this town.

a couple of days ago, i was in Macys and i was bored so i was watching the TV screen. ATM music video comes on.

it's weird, because that song was never meant for a release over here...

OK, i was going on a field trip to Six Flags New England (Woohoo) and on the radio ATM went on. I said "OMG! I love that song and V's sooo hot" and i started singing. People started to look at me like WTF? and they started getting mad cuz apparently i have a crappy voice and sings out of tune. My friend who was sittin next to threw a banana at me to stop singing. I was like "Eww i don't want ur banana!" and then when the song ended, i was pretty much beaten up by 6th graders... sad story. A VERY SAD NESSA story. But now i took voice lessons and i won my schools talent show so ha! :D

Post by: Angelcorrine on July 10, 2006, 06:33:35 pm: I always seem to hear ATM at times when things are crappy... I take it as a sign that even when things suck, they will get better. Just a couple of examples within the past month:

The day that I put in my two weeks notice at my old job... when my boss was mad at me for quitting and I'd been crying on and off the whole day... ATM comes on.

And just tonight, after a particularly tough survivor group, I went to Bob Evans to get some comfort food... and as I'm doing my group homework, ATM comes on.

It's almost creepy, but I'm glad for it. It's funny how at peace her music makes me.

v fan that i am, i got all excited about hearing v on the radio and i kept that station on all through the commercial set... zzZZzzz

then peabo bryson singing "if ever you're in my arms again" zzZZzzz zzZZzzz...

then the bee gees singing "how deep is your love".... zzZZzzz zzZZzzz zzZZzzz

then listened to the dj talk over the intro to, as she called it, "ONE thousand miles" :lol: ...

only to have that followed by an elton john song.... zzZZzzz
oh, what i put up with just for the joy of hearing v on the radio!! :lol:

but seriously, i hope v has some new stuff ALL OVER the radio and SOON so i don't have to tune in to the extra-extra-lite rock stations just to hear her over the air waves!!!

I was also looking at the preview for the iPhone at apple.com and i saw that one of the artists in the sample video for "wide screen ipod" is Vanessa. It's really strange because OD did really badly in England (53 and if it's above 40, no one's heard of it) and if you ever mention Vanessa Carlton to people, IF they know her name they usually say "The A Thousand Miles girl?" or "Isn't she a one-hit wonder". Aaaand, I looked at my boyfriend and pointed to the air and said listen, and the girl next to me said "Isn't that Vanessa Carlton?" She had harmonium too. I've never ever met anyone else who knows any other song except ATM.

and like i was screaming so loud...people started staring!!! And it was kinda embarassing because i was like jumping up and down and screaming and like flapping my hands in the air....and it's a really high class, expensive swimming pool....all the high class, rich people and alot of snobs from my school were there.... :oops: :oops:

LOL!!!

also...that same day, i slept at my friends house and we were watching Gossip Girl (she got in on DVD from America :D ) and I had fallen asleep...as soon as she heard Nolita Fairytale playing at the end of one of the episodes (the one about Thanksgiving) she came and stood over my head til i woke up and then i started screaming again! "Vanessa!!!!! It's Vanessa Carlton on Gossip Girl!!! NOLITA FAIRYTALE!!!"
and i started singing along til the end...then i was like "okay gdnight..." and i turned around and went back to sleep!

Sorry 4 the ignorance... also I saw that some people wnanted a video of Vanessa - private radio live, I have one, but without images, if you wanna take a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQMPf4k8UN0 I personally think that this version of the song (with an extra paragraph and just played in piano) is much more beautiful. What do you say?

I've also heard ATM a couple of times of course on the radio which always makes me sad that they can't play any of the others :(
