Due to the winter storm that hit the south earlier this month, the January 10th show at WCU has been rescheduled for Monday, February 14 at 7:00pm at Western Carolina University - UC Grandroom, Cullowhee, NC
This performance will take place at Western Carolina University's UC Grandroom. Admission is free.

I was just thinking the same thing!! I got soo excited when I saw that, but I have to work :( boo. Maybe she will add a performance to another state close by and I can drive there. Vanessa, if you're reading, go to Baltimore after NC because I will be there on Wednesday! (prayer falling on deaf ears..) hehe :)

Ahh! This totally sucks! Cullowhee is about 6 hours from me and it's on a stupid Monday! I so wish it was Raleigh or even Charlotte. :'(

To those of you who make it; I hope you have a wonderful time (I'm certain you will).
I would love her to come play a show over here (Michelle Branch did that last year and her fanbase is as big as V's over here (i.e. not very big). So if she can pull it off, I'm sure V could). Sadly, I don't think it will happen and the only way I'll get to see Vanessa live is by flying to wherever it is she's playing ... but I'll need more time than what she gives us!

If it does work out, I'm going to try very hard to get good video/audio. THe only thing I'll need help with is how to get it on the computer/internet where people can listen to it. I have a Flip recorder and a camcorder that takes little dvds. thanks everyone! It's not looking so great though. My coworker brought up labor laws...I don't think she wants to switch. I think I'm just going to ask for a V day (haha, vacation day!) It think it's still early enough notice to do that...we'll see!

oh most definately! I have a flip, it will fit in my bra if all else fails. ;D but I plan on trying to bring my camcorder and my digital camera, which also takes video. I plan on getting there early, like 5 or so, doors open at 7, so that I can get a good spot. where do you recommend? I just thought as close to her as possible!

I agree. As close as possible, so your recording won't be disturbed by unnecessary noise from the crowd.
And if you manage to record her hands on the piano, that'd be a plus on me in making transcriptions for any new songs. But really, having a recordings would make me already thankful. (:

As someone who is the one who is always recording, it can be distracting and at times you can be so focused on recording to enjoy it. Well, me not so much as I am a pro ;) but I know everyone is counting on you and I just wanted to say have fun. No pressure.

OH! Gotchya. I wasn't getting defensive though. I didn't take it as if you were being mean or anything! I know that posts are sometimes half of how you interpret them. I am going to try to bring my laptop with me but it's the only computer in our household, so I'll have to make sure it's ok! I reallllly want to get video for my own sake too, and I really do want to be able to contribute to our collection.

Is anyone else completely jealous of this girl??? A "closet" fan gets to dine with her?? If my skin could change colors it would be green. Well, at least I get to be there for the concert. Only a mere hours until I'm up in the air on my way. I got some new discs today for my camcorder and my bags are packed! I will keep you all updated on any info I can get.

It's getting sooo close! I'm getting nervous. Hopefully the weather cooperates, I have been watching and it looks good so far. I will try to upload whatever I get as soon as possible
I know how you feel! I was freaking out before my first Vanessa concert as well. Wait until you're actually there and are waiting for her to come out - absolutely nerve-wracking! I think I spent the entirety of the show in complete and utter shock over the fact that I was inches away from Vanessa Carlton, which, in retrospect, didn't really do me any good. I also remember that my obsession with documenting the entire show via pictures and video deprived me of completely mentally-absorbing her performance - if that makes any sense. My point is, relax - and have fun!

The first time I saw her I was more concerned with like actually me being there and trying to take pictures or remember what she was saying, I don't think I got the best soaking in of live music that I could have. Second time around I didn't do nothing other than just listen to it, it was amazing.

And it also says that V mess up some songs.
