Singers KT Tunstall and Vanessa Carlton are joining a crew of other celebrities and scientists on a trip to the Arctic Circle. The trip is on behalf of climate awareness charity Cape Farewell — which is hoping the artists are inspired creatively by the opportunity to work side-by-side with oceanographers and researchers studying climate change. A spokesperson for the charity tells People.com, “It has been organized for several months. We are hoping that KT will be able to blog while she is on the trip.”

Tunstall was recently married on a remote Scottish Isle and is using the expedition as the first part of her honeymoon with new husband Luke Bullen.

According to DoSomething, Vanessa Carlton is planning on throwing a green bash in her NYC apartment in anticipation of the nine-day trip. All of the napkins, cups, and other accessories will either be biodegradable or or made with recycled paper. Guests include Moby, Martha Wainwright, Feist and many other greenies.

Great! I wish I could go to the Nessa party, and Feist'll be there too.

hey y'all....does anyone know where exactly Vanessa lives in Nolita??
Im going to the USA next summer and I was hoping to at least get close to her building..i wouldn't like go up and stalk her or something

but it would be nice to be in her neighborhood LOL

I don't know how treking to the north pole is going to be inspiring. Just read the journal nature. They had an article about the tectonic plates up there a few months ago. Going there is just going to be cold as hell.

Maybe she'll write music with Moby. That would be good. Just like Moby and Sarah Brightmann. Good stuff. Different but still really good.

Yeah, it's going to be dark up there too if you go in the next 6 months. When you write dark songs, does it help to be literally in the dark? :razz:
