I'm bringing in my BnN piano song book that I just got since my piano teacher said she'd teach me a few songs, so what's the first song I should ask her to teach me that is pretty easy to learn? Or one that you guys think I would be able to learn? I already learned some of Paradise all by myself (it's soo fun to play!) so that could be a possibility...
P.S. I'm in a poll mood all of a sudden ;) sorry this is my last for today.
-
...i said rinse, just cause that song has SweeTness all over it.
but really, you should probally start with the easy-est one first [unless your really like GOOD at piano?]
i dont know which one is easiest though... but im sure other people here do :?
BaH i dont know :|

Thanks for the suggestion Kulp!

ur listenin to an easy song to play
-
Twilight is the easiest. and its pretty. but it gets boring if u dont sing along, so sing along! :)
-
Wanted. Just to be difficult
-
I'd say Twilight because it is definetly the easiest, however 'A Thousand Miles' is so fun to learn!!

I'd say it's a little hard to start with though . . .start Twilight, OD, then Sway maybe? Call me crazy but I think Sway is just very natural, your hands never end up having to do anything funky or uncomfortable . . .
-
OD, Wanted..
I don't play piano.. I basically taught myself with the BNN songbook.. and OD came easily for me.
Wanted is fun..
-
I taught myself wanted on my little 25 key thingy. Ohh I am the most talented person on the face of this earth...rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiigggggggghhhhhhhhhhttttttt.
-
i think wanted is the easiest, lmao
but i guess i learn backwards, the hardest is always easiest for me
ordinary day is pretty easy
have you played before?
-
Oh god.
-
MEANT TO EDIT THE LAST ONE.. instead made a new post.
Isn't that a shame?
-
I said OD, because that's the first song i want to learn :-P
-
Okay so i'm learning Ordinary Day. But I don't get the point in learning anyof V's songs because how can you play three parts!? My teacher was like confused too! ahh I'm learning the.. what do you call it.. the part without the words (lmao) so is that how you guys play it? I'm so fucking confused. Sorry for my french.

Uhmm the top line is vocal? your teacher didn't know that? yikes! anyway play the bottom two
-
yea, the top line is vocal. the singing La la la la :)
-

No she knew that you didn't play the vocal part, but she just didn't get it because it would just sound weird playing the bottom two without the vocals, you know? That's what I don't get either, it would just sound weird playing the bottom two. :?
-

Urghhh I KNEW that misplaced question mark...but yeahhhh
now I feel like people think I'm stupid

Most of the songs are very very close if not excatly what V plays. You have to sing over it
-
You have to sing over it
Yeah, that's exactly what my teacher said! I still say it sounds weird with just playing the bottom two tho.. :?

It's what she plays, though... :?
Personally my mom LOVES when I play OD, no singing or anything. They're very pretty.
-
Okay-lol yeah it does sound really pretty too. I learned the beginning of Wanted by myself, omg that is the most wickedest easy song out of the whole book, lol

lol, once you get the tempo, it really is. But then people hear it and go (http://forums.progaming.com.au/html/emoticons/shocking.gif)

OMG! Ordinary Day is so addictive when you first learn it! My teacher only wanted me to do just to the top of the second page, but I learned all the way to the bottom of the third page! I can't stop playing! lol
Wanted is fun to play too!
-
hmm... i think it would be cool to play ATM
-
It will be good to do any of the songs at the end of the day....especially if you add some of your own ideas to it! Either that or you could do two or three seperate songs and build them together...always a laugh :)

hahah, just make sure to find a good teacher. The best advice I can give would be not to choose one right away, search around then decide. :)
It can get hard, but once you understand all the notes and that crap, it gets funner after you've taken lessons for awhile :D
-
wow! you guys, i'm learning Unsung now! it is soo cool! I've learned all of Ordinary Day, & my teacher even played the top part, & I played the bottom, it sounded really cool! She asked what song I wanted to learn next, & she was like "how about unsung?" & i'm all "that's like the hardest one of her songs besides a thousand miles I think" & she's all "no you could learn it" so yup lol it just sounds so hard to play when you listen to the song, but so far the first page is easy- & fun! I'm just on the first page tho since I just started it.
-
paradise paradise paradise!
-
So right Laura, unsung looks hard but is sooo fun to play!
xoxox
-
paradise paradise paradise!
I already learned some of that song by myself.. my teacher thought that song was too depressing lol so I wen't with OD first, & now Unsung..
OD got quite a few votes, it's tide with Paradise.

Unsung is in the wrong key in the piano book :(

read the little note at the bottom of the page :D

What? lol
It say's * Music written a half step lower than recording
Is that what your talking about? haha I have never noticed that before!
-

That's it. Half step is the next closest key, key as in the thing you press key not urghhh . . .so if it's written half step lower, to play it how V does you have to move every note up one key or "half step" I don't have my book with me or else I'd tell you the actual key as in what gets sharps and flats and yeaaa.
I did a crap job explaining that :?
-
swaaaaaaaay! Oooh i can't wait till college so i can take free lessons and learn all of those songs!
-
What? lol

it means move all the notes one semi-tone up like if the music is written as C then move it to C#, if it's written as F and Bb together then move it too F# and B.
They think by moving the key from C# to C will make it easier to play...dum asses the same happens in the Selections from innocent eyes sheet music, they write Will You Fall For Me in the key of C instead of its original key of Bb which is a pain because you have to read it but THINK as well grrrrrrrrrr
-
I can't even think whem I'm not playing!!!
(you did a better job explaining)

Side note - I had a voice convo with Scott on MSNM earlier and even though I embarrassed myself by babbling and singing out of tune, he was very sweet and cool!! =D

lol it's cool I get what it means.. I thought it sounded a little different when I was playing it.. it still sounds pretty cool tho!
-
Ooh, and another thing, since there was no school today, and I had nothing to do, I decided to learn Ordinary Day by heart, and so now I can play it by heart, lol yeah, I was bored today I guess!
-
Twilight is easy. Easy enough to where I started playing the vocals and the bass piano part to add in some extra...fun. But nevertheless its great.
Unsung is fairly easy, but it has some difficult rhythms. A Thousand Miles is the first song I learned. I would recommend is first. Ordinary Day is pretty easy too. It's in C.
