I played my first open mic tonight...
I went to Kulak's Woodshed on
Laurel Canyon in N. Hollywood.

I will play it again next Monday night
if anyone is interested in coming out
please contact me and I will get you info
on where it is and how to get in for free, etc.

It was successful -

I was number 21 to play... they pull the spaces out of a bucket
i made a friend named Nick who was playing as a V-day gift
to his g.friend back in FL...she was watching live on the internet ...
she then sent an email and when
you send an email... this yellow siren type light goes off and
the emcee reads the email... so, watch next week and send me
an email if I play... or come out and see me... this was my first
time really playing anywhere and I had such great feedback soooo
I will attempt to do it again!

Kulak's - is a place unlike any other - people would LOVE...
it's funky and has stuff hanging off the walls - seats range from
dining room chairs, sofas, theatre seating, and a pull out sofa
with canopy where a few people fell asleep...it's some little
performance space stuck in the 70's but with modern funk

Nate Morton told me about this place last year... and I'm sorry
I didn't trust him enough to make it out until now.

They have a 24 hour HIGH QUALITY multi camera webcast

and if you pay them a little money (which I did)... they make you a dvd of your performance... HIGH QUALITY... incredible DVD

so... if anyone wants to see my performance I have it on DVD!!!

I love watching the dvd...it was so amazing to hear Nick playing with me...
and also most exciting - to hear everyone's beautiful voices singing along
to my song... just incredible... you all rock!

Thanks to Jen - for her email...thanks for being in Gainsville, FL and Nick having to do this last week so you could see it - or else we wouldnt have met - and i am glad i have an open mic friend that is willing to play along with me... and remember to watch online just like Jen - if you are watching - send an email while we are playing - they read them outloud...and it let's us know you are out them - listening and supporting!

when i go a few more times ... I will get chad (my friend that was there) to edit all the dvds together ... so, i can most importantly send it to my family back in Georgia... and also maybe sell them or put them on the web - since i have no cd right now... it would be nice to promote something...

I have the recording from tonight's open mic at highland grounds... I am not uber ecstatic about it... but if anyone is interested - i might post it somewhere for you to hear.... it's a very very very emotional song for me... and for it... i kinda had to hide behind a hat...and blush extreme amounts...
whatever... if you actually want to hear let me know....

it's previously unheard anywhere else... this is the first time I think I've let anyone hear it....
other than maybe Jess, Chav, Dani, and My Mom.... and only cause they wouldnt leave me alone....they wanted bad copies of my songs... however, i dont believe this to be on there... so, anywho... babble babble babble....
