The artist with the longest run near the top of the AC chart is Vanessa Carlton. "A Thousand Miles" still holds a respectable #14, and has been playing for 68 weeks. That's long enough to put out a second album and have tunes from the new CD compete with material from the debut -- although we're still waiting for Carlton's second CD.

I say let her take her time. With all the songs that we have other than, "Be not Nobody," it is like she already came out with an album. I personally think music is written too quikly. Good music takes time to make. A Thousand Miles took over a year because of writer's block, so legend has it.
