Feel free to post any stalkerish experiences you have had with Vanessa : )
I was in NYC for a school trip last week with my humanities class New Dimensions (mrchiorian.com)
We ate lunch it Little Italy yesterday and I was burning up the entire time because I knew I was 3 minutes away from V's apartment. I dragged a friend with me and we went inside every freaking shop in Nolita asking where V lives, I wrote her a letter : ). Nobody knew where she lived and most had no idea who she was which kinda pissed me off, isn't NOLITA FAIRYTALE their alma moter? haha. Finally I went into Ruby's and asked the guy, who had no idea who I was talking about. I also went to that cafe when V sits at in the music video, still they had no idea who she was. My friend was getting tired so I promised him to just ask one more person. We walked into a boutique and I asked her, she smiled and asked if we came all the way from OH to stalk Vanessa Carlton. I was like, "I'M HER BIGGEST FAN!" She smiled and whipped out her phone and texted a source and told me to leave my number with her because she knew this guy knew where she lived. I left my number with her, but she never texted me =\. We trekked onto SoHo to meet up with the rest of the group. I saw the Vosges store and had a lightbuld moment. I timidly walked into the shop and asked them if they knew where I could find her. The laughed at me again, but said she stopped by all the time and I could wait for her if I wanted, i really didn't want to..haha. After I left the shop I remembered my letter, and felt like running back in the shop and asking them to give it to her next time they see her, but i didn't, I was too embarrassed. It was still super fun to roam past her apartment a few times looking for her :)

uhh, I would totally do that too. In fact, I was thinking of an excuse to go down there TO do that. LOL, stalkers unite! Also, Google earth. Yeah, I've done it. what can I say?

I don't think you'r creepy at all. I'll be staying a few days in NYC last month and I'll probably end up doing something like you did. Last time I've been to the city, I went eating lunch at Ruby's and kept the napkin. The lady probably thought I was crazy. There was a lot of press coverage or celebrity stuff on the wall but nothing about V's :(

I've done that a bunch of times, and I do know exactly where her apt is but I'm afraid I can't tell. =[ I'm still always hoping to run into her somehow. so you are definitely not alone in this lol. =]

hyrdoswimmer -- I was thinking about your post and I think it's kind of good that no one knew who you were talking about. What I mean is, she has gained enough popularity and made enough money to live the way she wants and do the music she wants without having the paparazzi and fans (besides the occasional nessaholic) following her every move. I think that is a special kind of fame for a special kind of girl.
Totally jealous of those of you who live in NYC and can go strolling and exploring any time you want!

If I ever saw her, I would have to go up to her and have my photo taken with her, if I didn't, I know I would regret it.
Having said that, I know if I was to see her, before going up to her I would be wondering to myself, is it really Vanessa, I would probably go up to her and ask her, if she was Vanessa Carlton lol. And I definitely would be very nervous and am sure I would end up saying something stupid/embarrassing ;D

I wouldn't go asking around for her, but if I saw her I would definitely walk up to her & introduce myself, have a five minute conversation about life & her music, snap a quick picture and bid farewell.

My sister and I went to Ruby's (in the afternoon of course ;)), and walked round Nolita and found lots of the places where the video clip was shot! ;D I was looking around like crazy just in case she was out and about, but I think at that time she'd gone to Arizona so there was no chance!
I posted this a while ago - I pinpointed the places thru google maps of where the video was shot :D Hope it helps, future stalkers!

I really liked Nolita, and the food at Ruby's was delicious! (plus apparently it's Australian like me! ;D) And also, even getting off at the closest subway station to Nolita (SPRING STREET) was exciting!!

Haha yup! I was totally fooled the first time I watched it, I thought I clicked the wrong thumbnail. I was so excited to see the video too, I was screaming at the computer, "CRAP THEY MESSED UP THE LINKS!!". Then I heard the drums :)

I also randomly met her in a parking lot before a private show and pet her and victor...I wish I wasn't such a dork back then, we totally would've gotten along if I met her now.

I wouldn't say this was stalking, more just the luckiest thing that has ever happened to me. I went to her concert in Las Vegas four years ago and me and my two friends were outside of the club taking pictures with the posters for the concert a couple of hours before the concert. And out she walks from her tour bus with Victor! It was so amazing she stayed to talk with us for like 15 minutes but then told us that she had her sound check, but if we wanted to join her. So we obviously jumped at the chance! She sang More Than This and it was amazing. Took a pictures, signed an autograph and it was amazing.

So, my friend and I took a trip to New York and I was on a mission to find V. We spend most of a day in NoHo looking for her. I was telling my friend, "I have to find Vanessa's apartment or something like seeing her and Lord Victor walking on the street." I was so close at this point, we were by Lafayette Street and Spring Street and I knew we had to be close because I just knew. So, then I finally found Ruby's, took a picture of it (because we didn't have time to eat lunch there) and screamed out on the street VANESSA CARLTON WHERE ARE YOU?! But alas, my V finding was unsuccessful that day. And I ended up realizing it was the time when she was over in London writing Rabbits.
But still it was so much fun to be in the area that inspired Heroes and Thieves. <3

this isn't really a stalking but i still can't just get over the fact that i actually got a picture with v at the beachland ballroom concert back in 08. i have the picture in my room in a frame with my ticket and it's just so unreal.
