Title: Hands on me as a CD
Post by: saphire on March 23, 2008, 02:13:06 am
Does anyone know if Hands on me will be realeased as a CD or if we can only download it like Nolita Fairytale. I hope there will be a CD cos i want to have some Bonustracke (best behaviour maybe). So does anyone know anything about it?

well I am starting to doubt that it will have its own single digital download. anytime you click on her website to download the song or if you go over to the Inc's website for current singles it says HOM but the picture is the album cover and if you click it just takes you to the main page of the album on iTunes. Or they just might be waiting until it gets its "big break"

they're not.

it's great that he believes in her & everything, but as far as promoting vanessa, they don't have a clue what to do with her. i don't think she's all too happy about it either.

I get the vibe from the last interview she did that her enthusiasm for The Inc's handling of her has dropped drastically.

That said, Carlton is hardly marketable to a mainstream crowd any more.

It's sad. She should sign on a more mainstream label.

You don't get much more mainstream than Murder Inc. lol

If things continue the way they are, I wouldn't be surprised to see Vanessa go the route of Hanson sometime in the future - which involves forming her own independant label and getting distribution deals with major record labels for future record releases.

Which isn't an easily treaded path by any means, she'd have to rely on extensive touring as a source of income, but I don't see Vanessa comprimising any of her artistic integrity for the sake of sales.

Who knows, maybe Irv will keep her on board regardless of her sales? lol

I wish she'd go more international. Im from Canada, (Ontario) and I always hope to hear Nolita Fairytale or Hands on Me, but I never do. I could request it, but I don't think they'd have it. I wish I was hearing Vanessa Carlton every day on the radio, instead of Miley Cyrus (No offense LOL) She spends a lot of promotion time in the States, which I can understand, but I wish she'd come see her friends north of the border more often  :D  Who knows, maybe that would boost record sales... just an idea. Cause it's opening up more to a larger audience range right? I'll try requesting VC more often though

Ugh, tell me about it. Here in Mexico, they don't even distribute her cds since BnN. It took me about 2 weeks to get H&T imported and had to pay almost the double of the cd's cost. It's horrible :cuss:

If she were to sign with a really really massive general label, they would not let her do half the stuff she did with H&T.
That's one of the reasons why she loved being signed to Inc Records is being Irv gave her a lot of freedom.
