So VC covers the song....but has anyone heard the original by U2???

I know a few people who haven't.....

Everyone should listen to the original song...it's a classic...

Okay, I am listening to the U2 version now.  V's is so much better.  And either her intro is not as long, or it is so much better it SEEMS like it doesn't go on forever and ever.

I do like V's intro to the song...V's is a little over five and half minutes long....not sure how long U2s is

U2's version is 4mins and 36seconds on their Best Of (1980-1990). The version on the album it originally came from (The Joshua Tree??), may well be longer though. It does rock though, I'll be interested to see what Nessa does with it.

The Joshua Tree version is 5:37... 8O and so is Nessa's. That's a bit creepy. The intro for V's is almost exactly the same as the one on Joshua Tree, though.

As much as I love the version, nothing will beat the original. I am not a huge fan of U2, but their version is amazing and V's is a great cover, just doesn't quite get there.

there's only four seasons

these nights feel so good
but this one's almost gone

i agree...i love Vanessa's version, but there's something about the original version that hers doesn't have. Although I really love the piano in Vanessa's version

I like Vanessa's version better mostly because the piano sounds so cool in it and I'm not a big U2 fan. It was one of the only songs by them I liked.  I'm one of the few members here old enough to have heard the original at the time it was popular.  :cuss:

It'll be awesome to hear on her tour with just the piano.
