i don't understand how i scrolled through the topics in this thread and found no coldplay - but i am totally diggin them - clocks is so peaceful it gives me the same feeling atm did when i first heard it - i really respect them and think they are just amazing - i think vanessa must be a fan because they are so dynamic sounding with the piano - just like her!
-
I like them. They seem to have a cult following. :)
-
I just got into the coldplay thing but it makes my heart skip a beat just like vanessa first did!
-
Cool song! I like it :)

Are you going to any of their shows?
-
it took me a long time to dig them.
I saw that "Yellow" music video, I thought he was the ugiest dude I'd ever seen. Cornyass song, uglyass video... forget this. So they released a couple more singles, I payed little attention.
Then their second album arrives and they release "In My Place"... and I'm like, damn this is pretty good... then I go back and reevaluate "Trouble" from the first album and I find I really liked it too. I ended up grabbing the entire second album which is excellent. "Clocks" was a favorite until radio killed it. Now they have "The Scientist" on radio which I like a lot too and should do well.
Addtionally, the cover of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" on the "Maybe This Christmas" album is really good! Its the only other song besides Vanessa's that I liked on the CD.
-
I have their latest CD. I really like it. A Rush Of Blood To The Head. Awesome. The radio hit, Clocks, sounds like U2 with Sting singing lead.
My faves, though, are Politik and In My Place. As good as or better than anything else out there!
Dan/NS

i like "In My Place" it's a very relaxing song :D
-
Coldplay is just AWESOME. Chris Martin is the best. Very very talented band, awesome sound!
-
I like Chris and the rest of the band too!
They are very friendly.
For about two weeks I got an autograph with "To Suzanne love from Coldplay" and every member signature ... :D
-
Everyone seriously adores Coldplay here and i mean adores. Yellow was the song of the summer and was played at all of the festivals, the number of times i must've heard that song!
They have released the singles in a really weird order in America. I reccommend (if you can) downloading their performance of Clocks at this years Brit Awards (kind of like the VMAs there) because the lighting was amazing and he was really going for it.
I also suggest learning how to play some of their piano parts because they really couldn't be simpler.
-
i hate yellow...so much, its just sucks.
-
has anyone bought their new live dvd/cd yet? i got it today at the *magical world of Walmart* and i must say, it kicks all kinds of ass! i now have the desperate need to see them in concert.

yeah they do. ya know they earned a line in "I keed" by triumph the insult comic dog?
hey coldplay
maybe you should be cold sore
back when you were U2
i liked you so much more
somehow you're so yellow
reminds me of pee
i think cause when it's over
it's a big relief to me

Rosie is right Coldplay are loved over here, they've picked up sooo many awards recently and it's not hard to see why!
I didn't really take to them at first, but to be honest I didn't know much about them! But after hearing 'In my place' I've loved them ever since! 'A rush of blood to the head' is an incredible album and my favourite is 'Amsterdam'. It's just so peaceful and the piano part is addictive!! 'Clocks' is also really addictive too! lol. And the piano parts are very, very easy Chris Martin really is amazing.
Love Georgie xox

My all time favorite Coldplay song is "Warning Sign" off of the Rush of Blood to the head cd. I can't describe but it's everything you want to say to someone you let go of, and you want them back in your life. My 2nd favorite song is "God put a smile upon your face". But I really love the whole cd
-
Aww I totally agree 'Warning sign' is such a amazing song. I love the string part in that so pretty

"I'll see you soon" is another good song that they've done, btw

i have recently fallen in love with coldplay. they are incredible. i have "a rush of blood to the head", and currently, "the scientist" truly speaks volumes to me. it is amazing- the music, the lyrics, everything about it.. even the atmosphere it creates when i listen to it. fabulous.

Yeah, that was amazing!!
I  Coldplay :)

I do love Coldplay and I've seen them live last year cuz they came to Brazil... Yeah, unbelievable, finally some good band came to my country! 8O haha
I first heard them when Yellow came out in the UK. Cuz it's a very catchy song and well of course they reminded me a lot of Radiohead, which I also love.
I don't really care if they're just trying to imitate Radiohead actually... They're good anyway...
Oh yeah, and the DVD/CD thingy is awesome indeed! :D

I'm loving Coldplay's "Speed of Sound"

I'm loving Coldplay's "Speed of Sound"

"and if only I could/I'd make a deal with God/and get him to swap our places . . ."
I was quite pround of myself for recognizing that. And it was confirmed on VH1's Storytellers.

"yeah, yeah, yoooo"
That song is intoxicating, I can't say I blame Coldplay for stealing some of it.
-
new album keeps gronwing on me. their music seems to soft and slow for many people that talk about them but they are best really loud. I can't wait for the show in September. It will be my 1st Coldplay show. I really hope Keane opens for them since they will all be in the area for Austin City Limits Festival anyway...
-
I HATE coldplay!
why==???
cuz they think that they are the best!
-
Who is in LOVE with this song?? I can't stop listening to it.. anyone have piano sheets or guitar tabs or chords?? Also, everyone share their thoughts or questions about the song. Im having trouble figuring out the meaning of this song. It's starts talking about churches in the snow, so it's a bit confusing. Anything? :? :D
-
I'm not big on Coldplay, but I just adore the song.
-
COLDPLAY NEW ALBUM THIS WEEK JUNE 17TH!!
-
so i wasn't a hardcore Coldplay fan before listening to their new cd, i only liked a few songs. but omg this cd is BRILLIANT.
they are (excuse the french) fucking geniuses.
one of the best cd's i've ever heard since i don't even remember when.
btw you can listen to ALL the songs in full here, but you can't download them. let's hope myspace doesn't delete it for a while:

this cd is BRILLIANT.
Agreed. It is pretty much amazing. And I was never a hardcore Coldplay fan.
-
I think Coldplay might just be the most overrated band of all time.
-
^um i'm guessing you haven't heard their new cd? lol.
-
I think Coldplay might just be the most overrated band of all time.
Maybe. But my vote is U2.
-
I never really was into them. I had heard Clocks and Speed of Sound. I heard their new single Viva la Vida and it just got to me. So I instantly downloaded X&Y and A Rush of Blood to the Head. I think the new album is just great as well. It has been playing non stop on my iPod for a while now =]

But I am being biased since they are my favorite band =] But Coldplay is still great.
-
I bought the newly released Coldplay CD "Viva la Vida" on Tuesday... and I wanted to know what you guys think of it!
Personally, I think it's WONDERFUL. LOL. I love them so much! I think this new album was aiming for a new, more experimental sound. It's very different from anything else I've ever heard before. I love the song "Lovers in Japan/Reign of Love" and "Viva la Vida" and "Violet Hill". I think they somewhat stuck to their piano rooted sound, but mixed it with some modern, foreign sounds too.
This is a CD I definitely enjoy listening to, and it always sends chills down my spine, because of how amazing their composing/writing is. Love it!
What do you think?
-
so far I have been listening to it a lot. I love the album. I like all the song's except "Life in Technicolor" But it is def. a great album.
-
Life in Technicolour is a strange song though... I suppose it's just an intro or something? It doesn't have any lyrics..hmm... LOL When I was listening to it the first time, I was waiting for something to happen, but it just switched songs! I love how they play the song again (or a different part) at the end of the album, connecting with Death and All his friends. Very clever :D
-
I've only heard Viva La Vida, it's good, but i only wished they used real violins in it :(
-
Don't they? Oh well.. I guess it could be computers or a keyboard. It sounds real though
-
8O I'm Loving Viva La Vida and Cemeteries Of London!
-
Viva La Vida is good. but their song "The Scientist" is still my favorite Coldplay song.
-
the cd broke digital downloads record! for the most digital downloads ever. there are tons of articles on this but the best one is on yahoo music.
-
O M G .
I heard the best news ever today!!! Coldplay is going to release an EP album in December! And they might collab with Kylie Monogue!!
I can't wait! I hope 'Death will Never Conquer' makes the cut!
-
I love VIVA LA VIda (the album) and I think that the best song in the whole album is Lost? (the piano version)... it's AMAZING. :D
-
Apparenly they're on Saturday Night Live tonight! Can't wait!
EDIT: Whoops.. I watched it and they're actually on next week the 25th... Adele was on yesterday.
