My list is almost right but I would put Seattle in top 4 with NY. That dang cold weather knocks them both down. I have never been to Boston. Good thing I am already in Nor Cal 50 miles from SF.

lol everyone has san fran at number one, haha.

*imagines Nessaholic pilgrimage to San Francisco*

we'd all be singing

we're back, we're back in San Francisco... we're back and you tell me I am home

We could even have our own little Nessaholic ghetto lol

LOL that's funny Nerea... I was thinking of that song when I posted the results!   :D

To address the few of you that this thread seemingly offended... as Colin correctly pointed out, I only put it there because the website only reports on American cities/metropolitan areas.  If I had other sites to report on that covered other countries I wouldn't have put "in America."  But since Sperling's Best Places covers American cities, and this thread is about Sperling's website and the results it gives you, I put that in the heading for the sake of providing an accurate description of the thread.  Sheesh!!  :?  But no worries... it's all good.   :)

And thank you Colin, Let and everyone else who took the time to share their results!    And it's true... I'm not from the USA either!  :D

Montreal's a cool city!  I visited that city twice in October!   :)

haha...you should all move yo Brick, New Jersey...it's the safest town in the U.S

LOL... even safer than Watts or Compton in the LA metropolitan area?  j/k!  Actually I've been to NYC a couple of times this year and stayed in northern NJ both times.  While there are some pretty nasty slums (like in and around Newark, East Orange and Irvington) most of it isn't nearly as bad as what people stereotype it to be.  Both Carlstadt (where I stayed)... plus neighboring East Rutherford (both are cities near the Meadowlands Sports Complex) seem like perfectly alright areas (only a 15 minute bus ride to NYC too)... and unlike in Manhattan you can park your car at the hotel for free and hotel rooms are about 1/3 of the cost too.

I've noticed so many people have San Francisco in their top 10!  But as nice a city as it is... there's something about the southern Cali climate, as well as the way of life that I love.   :D

This so-called "calculator" seems to have an obvious slant toward San Francisco, Boston, and Long Island.  Apparently, the South is a very undesirable place to live, at least according to them.  I like San Francisco and all, but it's just so expensive!

But the South isn't really that desirable, except for places like Miami and Atlanta and like Dallas and Houston >_>

4  Long Island, NY
5  Washington, DC-MD-VA-WV
6  New York, NY

9  San Jose, CA
10  Pittsburgh, PA

After I graduate, I plan on living in NYC, LA, or SF. Just cause those are all cities I love and they're big in the music industry.
