Anything with blood and little kids and animals and women scares me. Saving Private Ryan (great movie) wasn't disturbing becuse it was about war. Not about cutting people up and making "Fish Man" out of their upper body by sewing a fake mermaid's flippy-flap thing onto them.

Also . . . Casualties of War was disturbing. The whole raping thing was too much for me. :\ Also, American History X - I hate that movie.

Deliverance.  It's talked about on I Love the 70's but they definately don't get into exactly how disturbing it is!  Everytime I hear dueling banjos I cringe.

The Bad Seed.  It's an old film from the 1940's.  It's not bloody or anything, just the story line plays with your head and it is one of those psychological things, like it's what you DON'T see on screen that disturbs you, it's thinking about it afterwards that does it.

I think disturbing and scary are two completely different things...

Most Disturbing:  I still stick with A Clockwork Orange as MOST
but I'll add KIDS, Caligula, and Scarface...possibly even Taxi Driver

Now if you want to add scary:
The Shining is scary as hell
and The Blair Witch Project because of its style creeped me out

I find it funny that this conversation started over the "movie" Titus!  Like people who talk about "The Atari's Song, Boys of Summer".

For those of you who don't know, Titus is the movie adaptation of Titus Andronicus, one of Shakespere's lesser known and bloodier plays.  The source material is every bit as disturbing as the movie.

What interesting through, is that it's widely accepted that Shakespere intended it to be a COMEDY.  lol!
