maybe it is that program that I'm using.......a free voice recognition software that keeps driving me nuts because it keeps thinking I'm giving it an order when I'm not and then when I give it an order it fails to respond...other stuff like that too i'm sure....like the board being down.....just on edge I guess today.....

That's okay. I'm feeling a little low tonight so I guess I'm not my usual wonderfully chirpy self, and the board going down didn't help.

Does that software recognise 'go uninstall yourself'? ;o)

Yeah. Well this is a properly written universal board. Fullerene wrote the Vanessa Carlton one and basically did a piss poor job. It's also hosted on a terrible system because it can really crawl at times.

It would be interesting to see how this board performs with fifty users logged in actually. It would mainly be down to system that hosts it.

But at least they're running maintenance on the board .. it shows they don't just ignore things. They change the holding page so that it uses the same stylesheet as the rest of the site as well .. so it shows they're trying at least.

It's just an example of a basic forum that wasn't meant to cope with that kind of traffic. Essentially, forums aren't used for 'chatting' as such and it simply can't cope with the volume of posts.

Maybe they'll sort it out one day. I'm sure they could bump up the system it's hosted on and maybe sort out a bigger pipe to allow more traffic.

*mental note : stop typing .. you're getting boring and your knuckles have caught fire*

Nah, it's good that people put the effort in to make things a little easier for others.

haha....star trek

when I get more cash I'm probably going to buy a more stable and not so annoying voice recognition software package..plus I can't type with anything I have currently..so......but knowing me I'll come up with a way to mix the programs together so I can do that for free also...lol

or learn C well enough to make my own app.

What do you use voice recognition for though? Is it so you don't need to type stuff up?? Sounds a bit lazy to me ;o)

(said the person who gets rsi and is currently in pain, lol)

lol...well I have it do stuff right now that is repetitive and launch programs and stuff..can't wait untill they get thought reading software   then I could record my thoughts and post them....with me it would be a trip for most people because I'm really really deep.  And I don't usaully say what I think because I'm...well...thinking....lol...but ugg, that kind of software would be dangerous
