I just saw it on TV. I would have obviously preferred Madrid to have won, but London was my second favourite and I couldn't be happier!

Whoever can all the U.Kers seriously, make sure you're olympic volunteers .. when Sydney hosted the games .. volunteering was the BEST TIME ever !! :-)

The Olympics suck. The IOC is corrupt. They gave the Summer 2008 games to China, who in addition to being one of most terribly corrupt and boneheaded countries in the world, evicted thousands of residents from their homes without much in the way of compensation to build the Olympic Village. Of course, to make up for this, they adopted the motto "New Beijing, Great Olympics." Yeah, that helps. :roll: In 2004, if you brought in food or drink not made by a sponsor of the game, you could be kicked out. Wearing branded merch that isn't from a sponsor put you in a similar situation. The IOC doesn't have the balls to let the ROC compete as "Taiwan" because they are a lapdog of the PRC (which is a misnomer, anyway). "Chinese Taipei" will have to do.

Screw the Olympics.

smile a lot .. and be an usher .. I wanted to be outside and talking to people :-)
sometimes at train stations sometimes just at certain help points .. but we got cool clothes and jackets and pins things ... :-) everything was discounted and we got to watch events if we were lucky .. :-)
no behind the scenes and no ticket collecting though .. :-)
You could have done other things ... It was 5 years ago!! WOW!!
