Title: UK Tour?
Post by: JamesCrowley on June 02, 2011, 12:16:04 pm
Does anyone know if Vanessa is planning on promoting in the UK? She hasn't come here in so long and I was too young when she last came so i still haven't had the chance of seeing her play I just thought that seeing as she named one of her songs after the capital, maybe she would come to do some gigs! I hope so :)

It's a possibility.

uk-tour would be amazing...
so it would be also possible for me to see her live, because london is not that far from germany but a flight to the usa is too expensive....
let's hope she will do some concerts in london

Vanessa should perform a few tracks on Jools Holland's show. And maybe a few others. And then play a couple gigs.

Yeah, later with Jools Holland is the right sort of show for her to play. It's credible and gives her some Kudos. I REALLY hope she plays a couple of gigs in London (I'd see them all.)

PLEASE a UK show!! life = complete. And Jools Holland would definitely be a good platform for her.

Jools Holland would be amazing. Quite a few artists launched their careers from his show. And if Vanessa played a few shows (and even maybe got Stevie to perform) I'm sure she'd get a few people interested.

Yeah Jools Holland would give her a lot of publicity which is good, but i'm being selfish in that i don't want everyone to know her. I like her to be the music which no-one knows about! but yeah it'd be great for her as an artist :)

I don't mean to be a party pooper but I doubt she will come to Europe. The only tour she ever did here was for BnN and that was back in 2003. Unless Razor & Tie has super secret plans for promoting ROTR in Europe, I wouldn't hold my breath for an actual tour here. I think the best we're gonna get is a digital/physical release of ROTR.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love it if she came back here again but yeah...

Yeah i know :( I doubt she will tbh, but I can always hope. It would be the best gig i ever go to though (and i've seen some pretty awesome people). I wish the website was more useful. It doesn't really say much. I've been checking regularly hoping to see a UK tour date come up!

I think it would be really rude not to seeing as she recorded here, used an English choir and has a song called London. Personally I think I would be pissed off if she doesn't.

I think a London show would be enough for the UK. She played Edinburgh once too, i think those are cities that would embrace her and her music.

I've been waiting on baited breath re: a London show. I work for a tv show in London now and i'd love to try and get her on it even if that's not an area i specifically control!

YES! She loves London, I'm sure she will try to get out there.  Didn't razor and tie say international stuff was in the works?

And if you are reading Vanessa, Dublin is only a short 50 minute flight away, some great small music venues in the city  ;)

True. A London show ought to be planned. I'm actually surprised she didn't have any small gigs while she was there recording. It would've created some buzz for the album, especially seeing as how it contains so many English elements.

Yeah, she doesn't need to really promote, just stick it on twitter/facebook and it'll sell out easily. Also, I think she'd do well from promoting the album here. I think her style of music would do much better over here. I mean, our biggest star is Adele and America has Lady Gaga (who I love). I just think Brits are less into pop and are more into her kind of music. Plus it's really easy to reach loads of people. When BNN was out I don't remember seeing lots of TV interviews but she had a TV advert and was on the radio a lot. We don't have many big stations or channels, so it reaches many people without having to spread promo around.

Ahhh! that's so good. I need to see her live! but I really don't want to get my excitement up because if she doesn't it'll be even worse. Where/when did Razor + Tie say that?

If only everywhere is like that.

Well, actually, I like stuffs from artists from U.K. Adele, Keane. Those sorts.  And Vanessa, i think, fit well into their taste.

Yeah i agree, she has the sort of eclectic vibe that we like. Sort of like Imogen Heap or Florence and the machine but more talented!

I know that I have a few chances to see her live and if she goes to London then that will be one of them. More than an UK Tour I want an European tour, even if I can only see her once I'll be the happiest man in the world.

The international stuff was the release of the album digitally and physically. There hasn't been any mention of an overseas tour so far.

Im sure she's gonna do a show in UK. I think that's almost mandatory because the album has such a strong bound to England.
Or so I tell myself beacuse im desperate to see her live only once in my life. I've been a fan since 2002 and I feel like it's my turn to see her in concert now.
And i will travel to any city in europe to do so  :P

Im so jealous for all of you in USA... :P

I admire your optimism! ;) but I do really REALLY hope that she does come. I could die a happy man if I get to see FWF and get good live. *drools at the thought*. I find it refreshing that an artist has done an album which is so closely linked to our cute little country. Nice to be recognised, ya know?

Ah thanks, i'll check them out! Where would be your guys' ideal venue for her to perform? i'd love somewhere small like Shepherd's Bush. Or even cosier- the tabernacle :D

She played at the Shepherd's Bush back in '03 when she came to Europe. I was there! :)

Shep Bush is too big. Somewhere intimate in London Bridge, East London or Camden would be cool.

Shep Bush is for hundreds of people.

jeez, I was 12 when I saw her in Manchester. I'm 20 now! This time around would be completely different. I doubt she'd apologise to me for swearing this time. Shame :/

Two possibilities....
She mentioned in the Livestream that she would do a more intimate tour, but I think that is only in the US.
Also, I would think that she would do a UK tour, as she recorded the album in England, and it now has a lot of meaning to her. So it seems like she would go there and tour for at least a little bit. :)

She just said in her Virgin Mobile interview that she was definitely planning on touring in the UK, it's an English record, so it would be weird not to.

Would so love it if she made the short plane trip across to Dublin, unlikely I would say, will have to try and make it to England, though might have to make it a day trip.

I wonder when she is going to announce the full tour dates?

From interviews is the tour likely to be in the Autumn(Fall) - September/October?

I asked her about a possible European tour and she told me they were trying to figure out how to distribute the album for now. I guess we'll just have to wait & see.

oh  :(  having said that, I would assume that distribution issues would have to be sorted out pretty quickly given that the album is about to be released.

Also if she is going to tour Europe, I'm guessing it will probably be just to England. I do hope she comes over.
