At the House of Blues, once you get it in, its okay. The stage is usually well lit so you don't even need the flash.

buy one of those disposable cameras in case she forgets hers

Oh, I will. One reason she didn't have her camera is because you can't bring them in the House of Blues, and I told her to bring it anyways because there are ways around that (maxi pad wrapper...   ) But the next time we're going to see them its at a different place so we will definately have a camera ready.

Is anyone going to see them on tour with Simple Plan? Personally, I don't care for Simple Plan, but hey, if MxPx is going to be there, its all good.

I best see some pics of it! :-P

You have no idea how mad we were. We saw Tom before the show when we were eating. My sister was like "Holy cow, Tom is right there, right there..." so I told her to go say hi to him and she said "No! I'm stuffing my face!"   So after the show there was this guy handing out MxPx stickers (which you're not supposed to do at Disney...oh well) so we got a few and my sister whispered "Look...it's Mike..." and I turn my head and sure enough.... I told her to go say hi to him, but she's really incapable when it comes to talking to people in bands (there's whole other stories on that) so I was like "Whatever, I'll go say hi to him. I don't care." So I walk over to him, and he sees me coming and smiles. He must have thought I was crazy because I had an MxPx shirt on, I had one I had just bought slung over my shoulder, and I had their sticker in my hand. So I go up to him, shake his hand, tell him they played an awesome set (people in bands love it when you say that) and ask him to sign my sticker. Meanwhile, my dorky sister is hanging back, and finally she comes up right behind my shoulder, says "You played good tonight" really quickly and runs off. I said "That's my sister" and Mike laughed. I told him thank you and he said "Thank you for coming out"   Yeah, that's my story. I'm so pissed we didn't have a camera.

I always thought it would be fun to get slimed

Me too! All the old Nick shows were awesome! Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Rocko's Modern Life, etc. etc. All That used to be funny, too..."This is vital information for your everyday life..."

I've seen MxPx live more than once, and trust me, they don't suck. They're awesome (I knew that before I ever saw them live...) Mike was so nice. He signed an autograph for me and I shook his hand. My stupid sister didn't bring her camera, though! UGH! We're going to go see them next month, and she's definately bringing her camera this time.

Fall Out Boy rocks my socks, too.

In no particular order...
Best
1. Getting my license and my car! Whoo hoo!
2. THE WARPED TOUR
3. MxPx at The House of Blues (I met Mike and my sister completely made a fool of herself)
4. Writing lots of songs...
5. My school newspaper...it rocks, I'm the Entertainment Editor
6. My acoustic guitar, Trent (yes, it has a name)
7. Finally getting over the guy I've had a crush on since 8th grade...for real this time
8. Making an awesome new friend, Brianna
9. My anatomy class, it was so much fun! I'm sad it's over
10. Discovering Fall Out Boy...they rock

Worst
1. Finally realizing the guy I've had a crush on since eighth grade would never ask me out, but see #7 above  :D
2. Math class...I passed it, but it was horrible...
3. My mom giving one of our cats away (no, it didn't die, she really gave it away)
4. Jewel going all pop and stuff...it's not that bad but...
5. Gigli
6. The Order...I love Heath Ledger, I just didn't get this movie
7. My great aunt dying
8. Not getting to spend enough time with my cousins

Creative Endeavors / Looking into buying an electic guitar
« on: January 03, 2004, 02:17:04 pm »
Everyone starts out as a "guitar rookie", that's how we learn. I just passed my 1 year mark Thankgiving weekend.

I have a Squier because it's all I can afford. If you're not sure you're going to stick with it, I would recommend getting a Squier since they're inexpensive. Don't- this goes for anything, really- buy a brand you've never heard of just because its cheap.

I haven't had any formal training or anything, I have a few books but I lose interest since I'd rather just learn on my own. I would recommend a chord dictionary. And tabs are the greatest invention on earth.  :D

Good luck and remember, have fun!

oh i know what you mean. teachers ruin the book because they make you dissect it and analize it to death.

I HATE THAT! I just wanna read the book, I don't want to dissect it and all that crap, I just want to read. If we could just do that in school, I would have no problem. They make you find all this symbolism and stuff, and I swear sometimes they make it up.   OK, I think I'm done venting now.

I love Everwood! I never could stand 7th Heaven.  It just bothers me, probably because there's like 10 kids in the family!   Everwood is the best show ever.

I'm reading Rise To Rebellion by Jeff Shaara and 1984 for school....ugh. I hate reading books for school. I'd rather read stuff I wanna read.

There's a new Drive-Thru DVD? Because I've got one that shows Andrew dancing in the hall of a hotel...it's soooo funny. He said the best thing ever after he screwed up the beginning of a song at a concert I went to- "Wow, I'd like to play this song for you if I don't mess it up. Like I said, we're Something Corporate, not about precision, just about having fun."
