I thought we need an official thread for this like we had for Nolita, anyway...I got this in an email today...

It's a link to a mediabase and allaccess update of their Hot AC chart. HOM has five new adds, and is number 4 out of the top 10 taking off songs with 59 new spins!  I'm going to be requesting it to try and get it some more spins for next week.  :)

Please DO bother to request HOM at your radio stations! The more we request the better chance we have of them playing it. I have added the links of the radio stations that have added Hands On Me to my original post. Remember, these are radio stations that have already started to play HOM so they are clearly willing to play it. If we request the song then they may put it in their regular rotation and play it more heavily!

Okay, if those radios are willing to play Vanessa's I'll do it. I still won't bother to request it at the radio stations I know that won't play them...As I told you before, they have no ears..

You can definately request to other stations. :D  These are just links to staions that have started playing the song so we know they are willing to play it but requesting to other stations is good too! Just make sure that the station plays modern adult contemporary music and they should have the song.

If you want to request to a station that plays Top40 mainstream music you might want to wait till Feb 19 because that is when the song goes for adds on that format.

HOM is getting played on Hot Adult Contemporary stations if thats what you mean. The single goes for adds on Mainstream/Top 40 radio on Feb 19 so thats when you should probably request to those sorts of stations.

I would not worry its going to be debuting to the mainstream readio stations Tuesday that chart is only for Hot AC.

besides the song got more spins that last week, its just that other songs got higher spins.

HOM has less spins on radio today than it did last week! It's dropping! We can request the song by using the links on the first page of this thread to help it gain more spins!

Anyone know when VH1 will add the video? Also does anyone have any link to a site stating that HOM goes for mainstream adds today cuz I can't find one...

FINALLY today I got an e-mail from one the the stations here in Chicago and the DJ said that "I unfortunatly don't have the Vanessa Carlton song"

is that true? I mean do all the radio stations get the song? or only some?!

yeah The Mix. They only play ATM. I requested it on Fresh but they only play ATM as well.

Also, stations swap airtime for things like concert tickets (prizes), interviews etc.

It's ridiculous. I wonder if they even bothered listening to HOM.  I think it would be perfect for that fresh music thing. Anyone I've showed it to has loved it.

Nope, music nowdays is about getting more money, specially for the producers or label owner...

I don't listen to radio either...I can't stand for crap songs...

I really hope mainstream top 40 stations pick HOM up. I requested it to z100, they played White Houses back in '04, and my local stations.

The song needs some tv promo. Anyone know if there are going to be some performances coming up?

Jus when I'd almost given hope of this song going any where soon... I just heard it on the radio!!!

This was in India... It was on 91.9 Radio Indigo!!! here in Bangalore... Somewhere in the afternoon.... The DJ said something about a new song... and suddenly I heard those unmistakable chords off of HOM and I was all Yay!!!   :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

I know,Chicago doesn't have too many stations that play anything by Vanessa at all and this really sucks because I know once people start hearing it the song will get popular. Anyone who I've made listen to it liked it but it's not on T.V. OR the radio making it hard to catch on.

well its starting to get higher, hopefully these are signs of greatness to come. I have yet to hear it at all in the chicago land area. Over here the mainstream radio station Kiss FM pretty much just burns a cd with like the same 15-20 songs on it and play the stupid thing over and over for weeks. I turn on the radio here two songs and than here them again in the same order an hour or so later, its so wrong.
