Hey guys,
I've been keeping up-to-date with all that's going on with V and, "Heroes and Thieve." I've see the list of confirmed tracks so far and I couldn't help but notice that "This Time" wasn't on the list.
Maybe it's too soon to tell, but is there any word on whether "This Time" will make it on the album?? I don't know what it is about the song, but out of all the tracks I've heard from the album, that one's my most absolute favorite. :razz:

Why isn't Best Behavior going to make the album cut? I was under the impression that it's in the same situation as This Time and has yet to be confirmed with an official word from Vanessa.

I really think that This Time will be on the album.....she co-wrote it with Linda Perry so i dunno if she would cut one of the few songs she wrote with her...

Thanks for the replies!! It's a pitty the track won't make the final album cut!! :( I was really looking forward to hearing a clean final cut of the song. Like portions said, hopefully it'll be released on a CD-single or a B-side or something along those lines.

I think Vanessa's shown she's more than capable of writing material that's not filler. Best Behavior is definately not a filler track, and if featured on the album would not be considered as such.
And I don't think plunking down more songs on H&T would way down Vanessa's creativity in any shape or form. We'd just have more awesome songs to look forward to.
But I think she's really OCD when it comes to track numbers for some reasons. Like, she really wanted Harmonium to have 10 tracks, and by the grace of the flying spahgetti monster in the sky, or god, whichever name you prefer, we got The Wreckage as a bonus track.
I still think she should have left Where The Streets Have No Name on the domestic release. Watch the foreign markets get all the goods again as we get screwed for another round.

the promosquad clip of the song was AMAZING!!!!!!!!! why would they test it on promosquad if they weren't even sure they were putting it on the album? isn't promosquad used to test POTENTIAL SINGLES!?
this song is PERFECTION and it MUST be on the album.
i'll die if we never get a full studio recording.

I never said that she writes songs as fillers I was just saying that its better to have a CD with a few songs that all mean well and are awesome instead of like an album with a lot of songs with half of them being fillers. I don't care how many songs are on her new album, I know its going to be great even if it has 10 or 11 songs on it.

yeah ive been worried about this for a while. It's my fave as well and i'll be really dissapointed if its not on the album. As long as i get the full studio recording at some point (international bonus/b-side/soundtrack/leak/whatever) I'll be happy.

I atually can totally see how "Home," "Nolita Fairytale," and "Fools Like Me" would fit the theme.
Obviously, the track H&T fits the theme perfectly.
Home= she's found a home in something/someone, which would be like "heroes"
Nolita Fairytale= she's found peace in her life, in her career, and who she is ("heroes")
Fools Like Me= someone she thought was her hero, but was wrong in that he stole, then broke her heart. This supports her idea that she "can't seem to tell them apart anymore." ("thieves")
Also, I think those songs show the extremes of relationships/life (and heroes and thieves are defintely extremes, more than calling a person "annoying" or "smart") in more than something like...in comparison, "Pretty Baby," in which she gives the general feeling that she's missing a guy. In FLM, it's descriptive and puts in your mind that maybe this guy was one of the "thieves". In "Home" also, it's an extreme because whatever/whoever she is singing about (likely it's Stephan) she is going so far as to call them/it her home.
Does this make any sense? lol It made sense to me.

I won't really be surprised if those songs don't make the cut. I used to really like This Time, but it seems a little Disney Channelish to me the more I hear it and I can see if she doesn't pick it for the album. I can also see why she wouldn't use Best Behavior- it too has a little bit of a less mature vibe than the songs we've been hearing recently (home, fools like me, nolita)
On rarer tracks though, I hope All Is Well makes the cut! I absolutely love that song and it's sort of different but seems to fit with the feeling of the album in my opinion. It's one song where she's not actually pointing to any one situation or person and singing about it, but it's purely about herself and her own emotions and I think that could be a good combination with the other tracks we've heard so far... plus it's more mature like the newer things.

I loved the promosquad version of "This Time". I thought it was great. But albums have themes, and when it's all said and done, This Time might not have fit into the overall theme. But like everyone's saying, it just might end up on a cd single or foriegn album version. Best Behaviour too. But if these two will not be on it, then that makes two more songs we haven't heard yet!

Yeah, but we don't know how many songs she wrote with Linda Perry. We know Spring Street will be on the album and that is one of the LP songs. I thought someone said that The One was also written with Linda Perry. The only 2 other LP songs we know of are Wave Goodbye and This Time and for all we know neither of those could be on the album. We'll have to wait till we get a tracklist or V confirms which tracks are on it in an interview or something. Either way I'll be happy cuz I can't wait for this record to come out! :D

HOWEVER, she sure as hell better put All Is Well on there!!! The only recording we have of it is pure shite, and it sounds like SUCH an amazing song, musically and lyrically. Plus I can relate to it so much.

I'm really doubting she'll put "All is Well" on the album. She's only played it once, right? Even if that's wrong, she hasn't played it live in a looong time, and it doesn't fit the theme of heroes and thieves, so it seems.

I listened to Best Behavior for the first time in a while today and I am so sad it won't be on the album. I hope we get at least one more recording of her playing it live before she puts it to rest.

Wikipedia says that Tommy2.net posted the official tracklist, and "This Time" is track number 9!! =D Thank God!! I was getting a bit worried. =P
