Rabbits on the Run. Vanessa has always been my absolute favourite artist and the only person I "follow" but until Rabbits on the Run my favourite album was Tori Amos's Little Earthquakes. The album just feels so put together. Second favourite is Be Not Nobody.

I heard "More Than This" the other day, in a pub in Brighton (England). Before that they were playing a Regina Spektor album. Good music.

She's got it right! I'm planning a wedding. A simple, cheapish wedding and it's still stressing the crap out of me. I wanted to elope. Should have put my foot down!

General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Ronan Parke covers A Thousand Miles

The kid from Britain's Got Talent is about to release his album and his first single is A Thousand Miles. It's bad, it's on youtube. I'm on my phone so can't link. As Simon Cowell is involved it will be all over the UK, eurgh. Dreading it.

Saw this on twitter! I also saw this one the other day but don't think it was posted here?

I like radio interviews because they have the time to sit down and have a proper chat with the artist.

Is it me, or does HEAR THE BELLS have a potential to be a single?

It sounds so good.

I don't think so, but I think it would be a really good "film" song.. Quite a lot of the Rabbits songs would make good "film" songs, you know, songs that play over poignant, or whatever, scenes.

2 years after she became famous actually. Chasing pavements? 19? No?

Yeh I suppose, but she wasn't crazy like she is now. Believe me, i was a fan for YONKS before 19 because i live near the brit school and saw her perform there :) But yeah i still didn't think she was properly in the spotlight till Someone like you really.

Well she wasn't famous in America really until recently, was she? I still think she was quite well known over here. Ssh, don't tell anyone, but I think 21 is a bit boring and overrated. A couple of fantastic songs though.

I hope she plays Jools Holland in the UK. It's her kinda scene.

Jools Holland always sees artists at their finest.

Very true. Adele performing 'someone like you' (way before she was famous may i just point out ;)) was beautiful! i cried when i first heard it.

I think it would be really rude not to seeing as she recorded here, used an English choir and has a song called London.

True. A 'London' show ought to be planned. I'm actually surprised she didn't have any small gigs while she was there recording. It would've created some buzz for the album, especially seeing as how it contains so many English elements.

Yeah, she doesn't need to really promote, just stick it on twitter/facebook and it'll sell out easily. Also, I think she'd do well from promoting the album here. I think her style of music would do much better over here. I mean, our biggest star is Adele and America has Lady Gaga (who I love). I just think Brits are less into pop and are more into her kind of music. Plus it's really easy to reach loads of people. When BNN was out I don't remember seeing lots of TV interviews but she had a TV advert and was on the radio a lot. We don't have many big stations or channels, so it reaches many people without having to spread promo around.

I don't know why you all get so annoyed that ATM gets recognition. He played a piano medley (no singing) and just played a few seconds. To have people recognise a song from 9 years ago from a few seconds is huge. It's one of the most famous piano riffs of all time. It's not something to get knarked about, it's a massive achievement.

Nope, she calls it her 4th studio album on her twitter. I'm just saying, that person doesn't "need correcting", it is technically her 5th album if you include Rinse.

4th STUDIO album, 5th album overall as the demo was an album.

I'm pretty sure it's her as Twitter suspended it.. They do that if they are not sure if it's really the famous person. I'd imagine to unsuspend it they would have had confirmation it's her? Plus the proper background.. though it's not hard to fake. Someone needs to ask her at a show :P

Because record companies are dying out! It's more common for people to go solo these days. I guess she just got fed up of people making money off her hard work and talent and giving nothing back. The only reason you need to go with a record label is because they have the money to promote you, have deals with radio companies etc.. but she's not been getting any of that for years now. I'm pleased she's gone indie, she's got the experience and a big enough fan base to live off comfortably now she'll get a bigger share.

"I'm just as clever, it's not technically cheating if I didn't really mean it"

I wonder if that means she cheated too? Plus the bit about the letter, which sounds like a proposal to someone else, I wonder if that actually happened or if it's just for the song?

The lyrics are amazing, I really love this song.
