Is anyone into makeup? I am addicted to MAC... I've been playing a lot with makeup lately.
What does everyone else use? What brands? Shades? Techniques?

Maybelline, loreal i use anything
I dont care what brand it is really..you just have to make sure you know what the hell you're doing when you're applying it... :D

my mom got me a great makeup set for christmas. it's got eighty billion eye colors and i love mixing them, trying new colors.. lots of fun. i use whatever i can afford basically.. but a lot of bronzer. i'm too pale.

I use a lot of Almay, atleast for my eyes cuz i had allergic reactions to other brands, so i gotta use stuff thats hypo-allergenic. But I also have a lot of Mary Kay stuff, and Maybelline. loooooove the eyes darlin!

ps nicole- my brother was wondering if you had flash on your camera when you took the one with your eye open, and if so, if it hurt.. i guess he's a little weird like that :-)

i use alot of diferent stuff... mostly maybeliene and loreal, but rimmel and clinique are my favorites. for my eyes, i use rimmel endless length and lift in black brown... it makes my lashes look at least ten times thicker and longer. eyeshadow... for that i line the bottom of my lids with dark purple eyeshadow, then blend to the crease and use a light purple shimmery color on the rest of my eyelids. it makes my eyes (which are blue) look almost purple i think. for lips i use clinique lip gloss spf 30 in plushed, and put loreal lipgloss (i forgot the brand lol) over it. and if i have a zit or whatever, just a cheap concealer.

I remember having to tell women they were having allergic reactions to their makeup and to get hypo-allergenic makeup. I think I did that even on the o-board, lol. How long did it take for you to figure it out? I bet your eyes burned at one point or another.
I have no idea why I know this stuff, but I do. Women who look natural are better looking in my opinion. Just my two cents. Have fun.

Yeah, i had an allergic reaction, which caused my eye lids to like puff up, NOT PRETTY and my eyes would sting. Definately not fun, but i like wearing makeup.. nothing drastic though, atleast not for me.

me neither. and if i do wear makeup it's some of that compact thingy i got at walmart for the low, low price fo $2.50. bargain shopping all the way :-P never eyeshadow,i don't understand how to use it. i mean, i know it's simple to put on, but it never looks right when i do it.

I get a lot of free make-up because i know someone who works a British Vogue. I went through a phase of loving it, and i definetly think the more you pay the better quality you get. I LOVE Benefit- they don't take it all too seriously and i love the packaging, oh and plus whats inside! lol.
I don't wear a lot at all- mascara is the main thing, anything thats smudgeproof- Benefit's is the best. Then a neutral eyeshadow and some cream blush (only the teeniest bit) because it makes me feel happier when my freckles fade in the winter!! lol, and sometimes eyeliner- but it makes my eyes itch, so only for special occasions! lol

I don't wear a lot of makeup usually... just maybelline foundation cause my face gets shiny and I hate it!
When I do wear more... maybelline illegal lengths mascara, it's the only stuff I know that doesnt smudge or run. I really don't have a preference with eye shadow since i'm not all that good at it and don't wear alot. And I switch my lip gloss all the time.

Uhmm...all different brands, probably brands you don't get there. She just uses the huge, $1000 kit she's got ...it has sooo much in it. Uhmm, I might ask her to experiment on me sometime and I'll take some pics...haha, yeah...

I don't actually wear so much make up because I have extremely sensitive skin but also I much prefer the natural look on me.
I usually wear just my favourite lipbalm (Natural collection vanilla-smells absolutely divine!) a neutral eyeshadow and perhaps a brown natural mascara. It has to be natural because a) sensitive b) I don't want to cover up my freckles!
Although my mum gets all these discounts from clinque! So if they have a offer my mum gets me free stuff, and they have goregous cosmetics! She got me something from MAC once, but that doesn't happen very often lol.

Exactly, some make up is way over priced! I mean sometimes you find that the cheaper things work just as well anyway! The only thing I would splash out on is a good moisturiser!!!

Hmmm i would say its well worth spending a good amount of money on a good basic mascara, foundation, moisturiser and probably eyeliner too. Yup.

Yeh I mean make sure you get good quality stuff. I have splashed out on a powder, but this is because cheaper things can irritate u.
Oh and Manda I guess it's make up! I mean I use it for my lips too :D And if u put it over your eyes it makes them shimmer-very cool!!

Yeah, I also am a make up don't-know-how...
I just use powder foundation stuff(I'm an Avon rep so I use their stuff and it's pretty darn tootin' good), some lip balm/lip gloss(Blistex/some pretty lip glosses sometimes over the Blistex stuff), maybe blush.... I don't know how to use eye make up either, lol..
Yeah, moisturizer is a MUST HAVE for me... I have the dryest skin in the world! bah... I use Aveeno, it works very very well..

i have a lot of MAC stuff but im too lazy to play with the eye shadows, usualy only if im bored, but i normally only wear the studio tech if anything, or just the regular pressed powder or blot powder

i used to keep this book of all my fave makeup tricks i would tear out of magazines --- or my fave eyes etc to duplicate i think i lost that little journal when i moved back from LA - i adored it though
my fave makeup is skinmarket (which no longer exsists :cry: )
i guess i like urban decay, benefit, stila (love stila) - thats all i suppose

I just learned teh wonders of drawing in your eyebrows and finding paler foundation...
I also learned that if you use MAC paints and cream color base before you apply eyeshadow... it would look like 93798274894 times better!

I went to Mac last night to get make up done for my party
I showed her the color of the dress and told her I wanted glamerous but not too much color.
this is what I got!

I LOVED it! but it's not something I'd do everyday, haha. It worked well with the bright color of my dress, so that was nice!

don't worry about not wearing makeup. I wear makeup from time to time. Most of my friends don't really wear make up, coincidentially and we're all in our 20s. I do love lipsticks, everything else overwhelms me. I think to each her own! :-)
I've always wanted to use eyeliner, but I'm a major scarely cat about poking my eye out and my eyes water when i've tried and I end up not getting close enough to the lashes. Any baby step tips?

I don't wear much makeup...
I wear some form of foundation on my under eye circles (so it doesn't look like I just came from night of the living dead). They shine through anyway, because, yeah, they are all purple and stuff...
Then I wear some compact powder, lightly, because my face is oily

Then I wear eyeliner... Not much though... + eyeshadow, and mascara. I try to make it look natural with browns (I have dark brown eyes). Occasionly I use a silver, blue, or pink to match an outfit...
I could never do something as awesome as that first picture on the first page.
My makeup always looks horrible.. I need to be taught or something.
I usually wear chapstick on my lips, because they are always peeling...

I'm proud of us ... we went to MAC today and did not buy a thing. But it was not too hard because I think I have reached the point that I have every color I like. It was fun spending the day with you! Thanks for my birthday presents & lunch/dinner. <3
