About : Michele Clark's Sunset Sessions is an industry only event that brings together adventersome radio programmers, music supervisors from film and television with the freshest new talent and is helpful in breaking many artists every year.
This year's Sunset Sessions are: February 17-20 for Triple A at La Costa Resort and Spa...45 artists, and 600 attendees expected....
Michele Clark's Sunset Sessions is presented by M:M Music and FMQB Triple A event is Broadcast by KPRI.

This sounds really interesting. I wonder if she's doing what she did a few years ago when she was label-free and asked us Nessaholics to come out and scream, cheer, etc for her in the right places.
Because this is only an industry event, does that mean that no "non-industry people" can enter? I don't really have a clue about these things.

Yes, there are ways of recording that :)
Yes. I use the RealPlayer, which has it's built-in recorder of live streaming.

I just tried it and I can't get audio for some reason. The little bars are going like something is playing but there is nothing.. Do you think you'll be available to listen and record??

So...ive been tunning in from time to time and still nothing, just songs and songgggggs. Right now is supposedly Stevie's turn so...idk. I have to go to sleep if i wanna wake up early, but i dont think they will broadcast the performances, i bet we will have a video later on tho...

From what I read it sounds as though the station is going to have a DJ there, but they likely won't be playing the performances as they happen. They are running a blog (http://www.kprifm.com/pages/sunset_sessions_blog) of interviews and song performances, though. I'll keep an ear out tonight, I found the station as streamable one on my phone. :)

ok so, im up again, so sleepy...
before going to bed i asked about the broadcast and this is the answer i got: We recorded a bunch of sessions with @KPRIfm and @sounddiegoblog. They're being posted online as fast as we can get them up. @KPRIfm is broadcasting live from the event, but they're not broadcasting the event live, if that makes sense...
so, they are not broadcasting the event live on radio, but maybe we will get videos, pics, and interviews later on. I hope so!

"Carousel" with Stevie? You know, I'm so glad she has Stevie in her life. I think she helps balance her & gives her the talks that she needs. I don't mind if Stevie is on a new song because their friendship is so genuine and pure. Stevie is cool.

I am not going to lie. I probably have listened to IDWTBAB less than any of the other new songs. I regret it. This version just grabbed me. The background vocals were AMAZING.

vanessa sounds so incredibly good at these sunset sessions.
also, the saddest, most wistful rendition of "a thousand miles" i've ever heard. this song has never made me so incredibly sad. heart-stopping within the first twenty seconds. it's so much softer than i'm used to.

Pretty sure it was a slip. It probably doesn't help "white rabbits on the run" is a line in Carousel. VC has referred to the album as just "Rabbits on the Run" several times.

ATM gave her the financial backbone to break away from the major label system if she wanted creative control of her music, which she did (and was the main reason she left A&M in the first place). There was a story she told once in concert about how A&M basically told her that she would do everything they tell her, or they were going to let her go, so she left. Without the bankroll ATM made, a decision like that is made much more difficult. If V has invested her money well she probably can be set on royalties from ATM for a while.

I haven't felt that way for that song in SUCH a long time. I am so happy that she looks so happy and refreshed and just ready to go! I loved Carousel, it was AMAZING. Oh and again for IDWTBAB. Thanks for all the videos and the audios. They are very special, is the first time that I can follow a pre-release performance and each time I listen that songs I stay in front of the computer listening carefully like if there was nothing else in the world, only the song and I. Thanks again.

Have you guys noticed that Vanessa's singing sounds a bit different recently? In a good way! Like, it sounds gentler, like on the high notes, I don't know, it's like powerful but vulnerable at the same time. To explain it better, like when she performed A Thousand Miles at the Sunset Sessions compared to when she's sang it in the past, it sounds more tranquil or something. What do you guys think?

I know what you mean. You can hear it in "Bride" when she sings "And I don't need a house on a hill, swing on a tree...". I like this more, because she usually shouts her way through songs and it was starting to get annoying.

I noticed the necklace on Vanessa and thought it was pretty, but I didn't notice it on Stevie until you pointed it out. That's nice that they both wore the matching necklaces.. they're pretty!

This pretty much sums it up for me :)
I haven't really been posting much, but I was checking these boards at least once a week in the "hibernation period" between albums - and now that the album is about to take off and the boards are constantly being updated with news, I'm on here pretty much all the time!
I love how close-knit the nessaholics are - it's really lovely to feel a part of something so special. And I appreciate so much all the effort people are putting in to share new recordings, videos and updates with everyone.

I noticed the necklace on Vanessa and thought it was pretty, but I didn't notice it on Stevie until you pointed it out. That's nice that they both wore the matching necklaces.. they're pretty!

After listening to all of the recordings and not just squeeing over Carousel, it definitely seems like V brought her A-game to the Sunset Sessions. Seems like it was a great set! It is also exciting to get such great quality video.
My theory on that is she was surrounded by musicians and people who will really appreciate her. Not that she wants to impress them, but she knows they most likely won't just talk the whole time and really pay attention to what she has to offer. Very unlike the concert I was at a week ago where most of the people just wanted a free concert and maybe handful of fans were out there. the ATM version does sound like she is singing different and it seems very much like the style she's singing on the new album (from what we have heard on the video at the website). More angelic, if that could ever happen! I think with each album her voice has matured and each album has it's own sound.

How did they even find it titles 8471 or whatever? I dunno. Regardless, I've added more titles and it's pretty obvious that Vanessa Carlton has some ravenous fans because they're eating them up.

I just did a search on The Ledge (Fleetwood Mac forum) and twitter, and everyone said that is the best place to get the half-moon necklace.

On the website where people make stuff to sell I think it's Etsy.com or something like that, there are people who make them. There were some for pretty good prices. We should all get one!
