Post by: Mountaineer on June 28, 2004, 09:29:32 pm: Its a new movie based on the Marvel comic "Elektra". When you thought She was dead in Daredevil. She never died which totaly rules!!!! hahaha. Jennifer Garner plays Elektra again. That makes it an awesome movie.

...but....on IMDB, someone wrote this:

Kirigi and The Order of the Hand send Elektra on a mission to kill the widower Mark Miller -- a man who must pay for an act committed by his grandfather years earlier. Upon being introduced to Miller by his young daughter Abby, however, Elektra aligns herself with him and defends them both from Kirigi's ninja assassins. But is there more to the Millers than meets the eye?

So I don't know the near death experience this person is talking about.

Either way....I'll still see the movie :D

Ohhhhh. I <3 Daredevil (the movie). In fact, I am going to go watch it.

But I can't wait for this movie. Jennifer Garner is hawt.

i knew that, don't know why i didn't put it in my post.....

i'm still under the impression that it's not so much a sequal as much as it is a "prequel spin-off"....again...i could be wrong.....

Her father is murdered in Daredevil, and she becomes a ninja after her father is murdered, so it happens after Daredevil. Which means that she is alive, and that this is a sequel/spinoff to Daredevil.

According to an article by M-TV, the director said they were sticking close to to the red costume that was worn in the original comics. The same with the plot, except in the movie Elektra won't be a whore.

He was on some Australain talk show, and Affleck will have a cameo as Daredevil. I think that it will be as part of explaining one of the new characters.

interesting.....ever since I've heard about the Elektra film (over a year now), he has never been confirmed to make an appearance....when was that talk show aired?

I've been reading a lot of message boards and such and many people think that the movie is going to tank. I'll gladly see it more than once. Does anyone feel the same way?

Honestly, I was 12 when Daredevil came out and even then I was like, "OK... it's a blind guy in leather tights. Big whoop." Only later did I really appreciate it and start to get into superhero movies. But I can't see anyone under, say, 9 or so getting into Elektra. Plus, it's only 144 pages, half as long as the regular novelization- I think they can suck up the extra half :) Plus, Elektra's an assassin. Should 8 years olds really be reading about someone who kills people for a living? Eh... I guess it's not as bad as what's on TV today.

Oh whatever. Apparently I'm the only man on earth who thinks Jennifer Garner is easily the most overrated female celebrity on this planet. Well, next to Beyonce. I don't get why men find her so appealing, she's nothing special to me. And the living-in-mom's-basement fanboys will put down the cheetos for a few hours to run out and see this tripe because Garner is so "hot." It's sad, really.

I can't remember if this scene was in the movie (I know it was in the novelization), but Abby asks E about it and that's how she answers.

The novelization explains more fully how E is resurrected, a bit more about the villians' powers, and so on. Plus Yvonne Navarro does a great job characterizing Elektra!
