she doesn't speak french. her sister told her how to say that stuff. i think it sounds really nice with the song. just because it's in another language doesn't mean she's "trying to be cool." besides, she's french indonesian, so gee whiz to the fact that she might speak french!
and just because she's starting to care about how she looks and dresses doesn't change her intellegence level. that's materialistic bullshit. i have always been smart, but i haven't always cared about how i look to other people (physically), but now i do. i'm not any less intellegent or any more superficial or material. she's allowed to care.
i don't think this has hurt her career, either. TIGOY didn't do well, but there wasn't a video. Hotel Paper has done super-well and Breathe was still quite popular even after she posed for Maxim. All she lost were the fans who chose not to stick by her because they thought she was a "ho," which has to do with having sex, not with what you wear.
