I'm pretty sure she played at the Roxy in Apr.
-
Damn Probably missed it then. I found out about her like a week or so before her album release, maybe she was already on tour then. I thought she started touring after the release. That sucks!
-
I think she sounds cheesy. Her music sounds too produced and the beats are kind of corny. Sorry =\

I don't know what you mean by "corny beats", but she's definitely an organic artist. Check her out live (http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=onlyfoolingmyself&p=r).

Posted today
Hey everyone,
So I've got some bad news...because Teddy Geiger got a role in a movie that will be filming this summer, he cancelled most of the dates for our upcoming tour in June :(
The June 10th Buffalo show is still on, and they are doing everything they can to keep the dates on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd, but the following dates were all cancelled:
June 5 - Boston, MA
June 6 - Philadelphia, PA
June 8 - Vienna, VA
June 9 - Allentown, PA
June 12 - Cleveland, OH
June 13 - Lansing, MI
June 14 - Chicago, IL
June 16 - St. Louis MO
June 18 - Nashville, TN
June 28 - Baltimore, MD
I didn't have any control over this and I'm so disappointed I won't get to see you guys out at these shows! Don't worry though- I'll still be out on the road, and we're working on lining up some more gigs to fill the dates, so keep checking back! Again, I'm so sorry to everyone who purchased tickets and planned on going and I wish there was something I could do about it, but i GUARENTEE we'll still be out on the road touring as much as possible this summer...so look out for some new shows in the next week, because I will most definitely have a full schedule lined up for the summer in no time! Thanks so much, I LOVE YOU GUYS!
Kate
Sorry guys. Hopefully she'll do another show in LA again!

OMG YOU GUYS! i'm so excited there's a thread about her!!!! i first met her when she opened for tyrone wells in nashville... she was so cute and her voice is amazing!!! then when i came back to california, i was determined to see her again. she's friends with my friend (tyrone's drummer) so i was on her guest list for her show at the el rey in december... it was awesome. i walked up and was like, "hi i'm on the list." hahaha. that's when she told me she was going to be on one tree hill. i'm so happy for her!!!
oh and p.s. i was at the movies last night and her song is in the previews for the "sisterhood of the traveling pants" sequel, yayyyy. i screamed in the theater.

She's one of my favorites too *-* she's a great singer and performer, but above all, she's a hell of a songwriter... and the fact that she wrote most of the songs on her album when she was 14-16 makes her even better. I wish I'd been that articulate at 14
-
I'm seeing her on 7/10 in San Francisco! This is exciting!
Also, can explain what the re-release of her album was all about? I'm assuming they wanted to intrigue the One Tree Hill audience, but it seems sort of silly.

I don't know if they wanted her to seem brand new or what. The re-release did give them the opportunity to put out a new album cover based on the look of the Mia character. And, to my extreme liking, Target came out with acoustic bonus tracks with the re-release. It may seem silly, but catering to the OTH crowd has obviously paid off.
-
I love her! The music is kinda poppy and bubbly. Its fun
-
It was not much of a re-release. It's the same artwork as the first edition. They just added a little sheet that works as a new cover, but you can take it off if you want. And yeah, I suppose it's to attract the OTH crowd.

You don't always have to be sad, Alanis. :o
I think you might be a good candidate for the Target Bonus Edition.

If you hate thriftiness, then you'll curl up into a fetal position when I tell you the story of the changing cover for Michelle Branch's "Spirit Room' CD. They flipped the lyric book around.
-
^Actually, I'm glad I didn't buy "both" editions xD I was a die hard fan of Michelle back in the day, and had the intention of buying the cd with different covers. Thank god I only had money to buy one, and when I came home realized it was the same thing, just flipped. I would've been PISSED if I had bought both 8O
I bought the Target edition of Kate's album, so I don't mind it's the same as the first issue, because it has the 3 acoustic songs. I can't complain :D
-
I got her album today and I'm really liking it :D Haven't heard a song I don't like yet.

Here is the FULL music video for "Lift Me Up", Kate's song on the 2008 Team USA Olympics soundtrack. It's more beautiful than I imagined it would be by looking at the preview video. I love how Kate emotes and her sweet high notes.

DELUXE EDITION OF "Don't Look Away" !
Can you believe?! Sweet, huh?
Here's the scoop so far.
There will be at least one NEW SONG including one penned by Diane Warren called "You Can't Break a Broken Heart" which will be worked in on a November episode of "One Tree Hill".
And although Voegele writes her own material, she says she's stoked to be adding a Warren song to her catalog.
"She approached me and wants me to sing the song," Voegele reports. "Diane Warren is, like, my hero. Looking at the catalog of songs she's written is overwhelming."
Kate's right about that!
Voegele says she and MySpace are still determining what else will be included with the deluxe edition of "Don't Look Away," sifting through outtakes, live recordings and video material. "There's a million options at this point," she says. "There'll definitely be some fun bonus songs that haven't been released, and maybe some footage."
Bonus DVD!!!

Be sure to catch Kate on One Tree Hill this coming Monday 11/10/08. You'll hear a performance of Kate Voegele's new song (available digitally) "You Can't Break a Broken Heart" penned by Diane Warren.
Here's a small preview:

Wild. We just watched that. Our house-mate-guest-whatever (she's staying with us until she can get on-campus housing) watches the show religiously and when she and Megan get home in the afternoon, they watch it together. I just happened to be in the room with them last night because the couch is a good place to be on the computer. It's just a good place to have to get up from very often because it sits so low. I actually stopped what I was doing to watch the performance, though.

The CW drama "One Tree Hill" is entrusting Kate Voegele with a meatier role and more screen time by giving her character a love interest which will likely lead to some kind drama for her character of Mia, the aspiring singer/songwriter. Check out her compilation of scenes (nearly 10 minutes) from the latest episode of "One Tree Hill"

totally looking forward to Kate's new album! Love the title she's chosen for it :)

THE best song on the record! I wish there were more like it on A Fine Mess
-
Kate just posted tour dates! See her facebook post
-
her new album Gravity Happens is excellent! More guitar and piano than in the second album. There are moments where she goes a tad country but not too much, she keeps the pop in it. I really like this album, especially Sandcastles, sunshine in my sky, impatient girl, burning the harbor, enough for always...pretty much every song is great though heart in chains is probably my least fav.
-
I just saw her twice last week! it was my first time being exposed to her music. I've known of her for awhile. really liked it so I downloaded all her albums.
-
yay! she really is very good. like i said in another post, the second album wasn't as good (to me) as the first and third..Maybe I didn't give it a chance, but it's still okay.
-
i love her!!!
i am kinda sad now that she's playing with natasha bedingfield cause it's getting too expensive to go to her shows now haha. i first saw her in 2007 when she opened for my FAVORITE FAVORITE FAVORITE artist tyrone wells. and then i made it a point to go to her shows ever since every time she was in town. but eff now it's expensive!!!
anyways, i think all of her cd's are great. i think she's a very clever songwriter.
-
I saw her in late April in NYC where she was performing and answering questions from some guy/interviewer. There was a meet and greet and I got to talk to her and take pictures. She was very nice :) I love Gravity Happens but for some reasons I might prefer "A Fine Mess" I don't really know why (lol because it's great I know) but I really really like this record. She never was amongst my favorite artist and I realized at the end of 2009 that I spent most of the year listening to that particular record. Her debut is my least favorite, I don't know if you guys noticed it but her vocals really improved between the first and the second. In A fine mess they're flawless except at the very end of "Angel" where there might have been some autotune?? Am I just paranoid? lol In the a capella part.
