Plot: a homage to exploitation B-movie thrillers that combines two feature-length segments into one double-bill designed to replicate the grind house theatergoing experience of the 70s and 80s. In "Death Proof," a psycho named Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell) stalks and kills beautiful women with his car. In "Planet Terror," a small-town sheriffs' department has to deal with an outbreak of murderous, infected people called "sickos." A gun-legged woman named Cherry (Rose McGowan) and her martial arts-wielding partner (Freddy Rodriguez) take on the zombie army. The two films will be fused together by fake movie trailers.

I cannot wait to see this movie. It looks amazing. Another Kill Bill hit to me, hopefully with Planet Terror sequels!

However, what stole the show were the four fake trailers. Brilliant.

but the 2nd half was terrible.
way too much talking about nothing. so much wasted time...

I would've been happier if the movie ended after the first half.

Post by: Manda on April 07, 2007, 02:43:06 am: Well I loved the first part of the movie, "Two against the world" and "I never miss" I kind of wanted to cry. And Marley shelton was funny with her rubber hands, I think she did great!

As for the second part, it was really slow. But I was blown away by the ending, I loved it.

If I had to choose, I choose Marley Shelton's feature hands down no contest. :evil:

Post by: Jophess on April 07, 2007, 06:59:10 am: All of the reviews I read said that Tarantino's flick was better than Rodriguez's. I somewhat agree. I thought they were both brilliant, but you go from one radical style to another totally different radical style and Tarantino's seems "boring" compared to Planet Terror. I thought Tarantino's was better as a movie, but Planet Terror was funnier and more entertaining.

But the 25 minute car chase in Death Proof pwn'd all.

Also, what was everyone's favorite fake trailer (the fake movie previews in between and before the movies)? I can't pick one! I thought they were all absolutely histerical.
