Was my French any good?  I had to use an E/F dictionary and then I constructed it like an English sentence.  Might not be half bad I'm hoping, regardless of the fact on how I built it.

Let me see that...

Je ne parle pas. Je parle japonais, et vous?

Let's try to correct it, shall we?
"Je ne parle pas le français" (you have to put "le français" again here, otherwise it only means "I don't speak"). But the rest is good.
Wow dude, you speak Japanese, that's awesome! I speak some Japanese too: konnichiwa, watashi wa Ghisy desu. Watashi wa Furansu-jin desu. Anata wa America-jin desu ka?

"A l'université, j'étudie les deux langues dans le/la même semestre/année (what do you mean there? I'm lost) mais ... (ok i'm lost again here, I'm not sure what you mean? you like Japanese better? or you're better at Japanese than French?)

And yes Joey, only kinda (only when I have to, which is everyday here...*sigh*)

I usually get exited about the door that leads outside.   :D What?  That was a typo? :?   Oh.  Never mind, then.

But yes, I have a question about French.  Suirbus.  Is that a French word or name?  Am I spelling it right, and how is it pronounced?  I'm not sure, but I'm thinking there should be an O in it somewhere, or maybe an E.

Seems like I saw it on a sign or something when I was a kid.  My cousin thought it was pronounced "SOO-r-buss", and I thought it was "swee-BOO" because it looked French to me. But I can't remember if that was the exact spelling.

It would be "J'espere de parler francais tres bien." Right, Ghisy?

Nous avons eu des eleves francaises a mon ecole il ya un mois. Je leurs parlais et ils ont dit que mon francais est tres bien. Mon prof de francais pense que je devrais etre en francais trois. J'etudie depuis deux ans. C'est tout.

Sorry, not in a mood to put accents. Did I use "devrais" right? We haven't learned that in class yet, that was something I picked up on my own.

Actually, it would be "J'espere parler tres bien le francais".  twilightstar530, you weren't too bad on this one! ;)

Wow, very good sentence and yes, that's correct! I'm impressed you actually picked that up all alone! It's hard for French people, after you've left school for too long haha, to not make that mistake (use the future instead of the subjunctive tense, is it subjunctive by the way?).
No worries about the accents, I don't use them either when I'm typing (*cough*USkeyboard*cough*   )
You should use "bon" instead of "bien" in that sentence though. People would understand if you say "bien" but "bon" is better.

Darn.  Well, if it were a French name, how would it be probably be spelled and pronounced?

Hahaha, this thread is turning into "the French thread (or how Dustin is trying to figure out that French word he saw when he was a kid)".
I love it! ROFL

I know... I just hate the stuff they sometimes teach us in French here I mean like for instance the rat is under the table..... Le rat est sous la table. I mean come on. I hated it as well like it took like 10 lessons before they tought us how to say I dont want or I dont like with Ne and Pas.... we were doing the food lesson and how to say hungray and thirsty I was just like um I am not hungry? anywho yeah.
