Anyone heard of her?
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=8777613
Her music is pretty nice :) I think I might buy her CD.
I was browsing top music on myspace(That's where I pretty much go to find new music).
Tho it's sad that they only show you 10 pages of top artists..cuz there's already some I don't like XD.
I kind of like soft nice music that makes you feel good or songs I can relate to ya know?
-
I've definately heard of her =)
She is awesome guys and a nice person.
I was lucky enough to go and see her on Wednesday for a little show in Newtown. My friend and I even got to meet her
Her CD 'Coco' has already been released in Aus and New Zealand and it'll be released in the U.S on July 17th so when you get it be sure to check out every single song because they are all fantastic in their own right.

Woooooooooooo! It's nice to not have to use Myspace to listen now :)

From the Washington Post yesterday:
"According to the admittedly sketchy metrics of MySpace, 22-year-old singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat was once the site's most popular unsigned musician. But unlike fellow MySpace sweetheart Tila Tequila, Caillat can actually sing and, if the photos accompanying her major label debut, "Coco," are any indication, she prefers to remain fully clothed.
MySpace stars are usually clamorous creatures better suited to the pages of Maxim magazine than Billboard. It's a wonder Caillat broke through at all: "Coco" is the gentlest of albums, a wispy and amiable exercise in coffeehouse soul that draws equally from Carole King, John Mayer and, more to the point, Jack Johnson, who shares Caillat's love of mildly played, determinedly pleasant folk.
Caillat (the daughter of noted Fleetwood Mac co-producer Ken Caillat) is a warm-voiced and remarkable singer but often the clunkiest of songwriters. The simplicity and sweetness of "Coco's" best tracks (such as "Bubbly," which is powerfully and maybe purposefully reminiscent of Johnson's storied "Bubble Toes") too often gives way to innocuousness (as does the drippy closer, "Capri").
"Coco" is so dogged in its embrace of mid-tempo, diary-entry-style acoustic folk that even its ostensibly upbeat, R&B-inspired tracks threaten to induce a state of comalike mellowness familiar to stoners, surfers and anyone who's ever spent time at Lilith Fair. Caillat, whose air of laid-back chipperness threatens to reach dangerous, Matthew McConaughey levels, is in desperate need of a wizened co-writer and a producer capable of de-perkification. (Is Shelby Lynne available?) With a little seasoning and a judicious layer of grit, she'll be an artist to be reckoned with.

I think you guys should take a listen.
I think the album is really great, especially the first 6 tracks.
I highly recommend it.
Danny
-
So I checked her out earlier this week or last week I forget & didn't care for her, but I checked her out last night again & she's growing on me.
She reminds me of Jennifer Aniston though who I can't stand lol hopefully that doesn't bug me too much
-
Her album is great and she's very sweet. I just hope she'll stay this way.
-
I just discovered her today and I love her after one listen. I haven't fell for a singer so quickly since Norah. I have to see her live. Bubbly is my favorite song of the year.
-
Sidenote: She's playing a couple dates with Tyrone Wells! A guy named Jason Reeves, who co-wrote a lot of the songs on Colbie's album, opened for Tyrone last weekend. :) Such a small world, you guys should check out Tyrone. I promise he's reallyyyyy goooddddd.
-
I got tickets for her show in Ventura. I'm anxious to see her
-
I don't really care for her, and I've seen her live, and I got bored through the set. Although I imagine that also has to deal with the fact that it was at a festival and someone announced The Format was playing, and than they came back on and said sorry the format is not playing next and my wanting of the format was even greater.
-
She is sooo neat!... "bubbly" is such a smooth and sunday afternoon-ish song...
-
I haven't been able to get Bubbly out of my head!
-
Guys, she's soooooooooo perfect..
First time when I saw her on TV, I was listening my ipod, so i culdn't hear the song she was playing, and I tought
Bah, another Paris Hilton to hit the TVS.. Damn it
But NOOO.. She's really good
I'm really in love with her...
-
I haven't been able to get Bubbly out of my head!
It has that effect. Most of her songs do.
-
God, I was blocked, closed, ignoring american music... but, then.. i heard her and had to leave my hate behind...
-
I am not a huge fan of Bubbly, but I bought the album on Danny's recommendation and it is pretty good. I definitely like it. :)
-
Yeah, I am not feeling that Bubbly song either. I saw the video when V was on TRL. But she's on right before Brandi on Sunday so I will let you know what I think and try and get some videos to share.

Sounds good!
Katia was trying to convince me to go to Brandi's show when she was here, but I got caught up in all of my Seattle planning and forgot about it .

you might not see her because she cancelled her show tonight because she's sick and lost her voice
-
Well I hope she feels better. She has two days. So long as it's not Brandi I am cool.
I saw today she's also doing the Mayer Craft Cruise.
-
yeah that seems like it would be a fun thing but I'm not rich enough to do it

Colbie and I go back, you see.
-
So I saw her this weekend in Monterey. It was enjoyable, very mellow. The guys in her band are nice to look at and talented so that's always a plus. There were a few teenie boppers there and a lot of teenage boys.
I got 3 videos for you but between the Brandi & AFF shows in Denver on Saturday and Brandi again on Sunday, it might take a minute. But here's Realize. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y46IMksU4oI) This one can get stuck in your head.
-
Realize is one of my favorite
-
Thanks for posting that, Let.
Off topic, but I look forward to seeing you in Seattle! :)
-
Yeah, it's going to be awesome!
Sorry, still haven't gotten to the other two videos. I have 9 shows to go through. Hopefully this weekend. One of the songs she said was new, totally don't remember what it's called.

I went to her show in Ventura Monday and had a great time. I got there later than I planned on at 6pm and was like behind 100 people and thought I'd have a terrible view. The line went around the block by 6:30pm so I figured I could be in a worse situation but just before they opened the doors a guy working there told me to come to the front and they're letting me in first along with another girl and so when I got in I saw that I had a pretty good spot with a good view of the stage.
Jason Reeves went on first and was very good so I bought his CD then a guy named Chris Pierce and he blew me away. His set was awesome and I bought his CD too.
While I was waiting for Colbie to do her set, Jason Reeves came over to sign my CD and take a picture with me and then security came over and told me to take the camera to the front and they would hold it until the end of the show and I was so mad because I was not even facing the stage it was away from the stage while there were people taking pictures and video of the first 2 acts and didn't get reprimanded. The people in front let me keep the camera as long as I didn't take pictures anymore.
Colbie was great and sang every song from the album along with a couple of new songs and she sang Droplets with Jason Reeves.
After the show, I took a picture with Chris Pierce and got his CD signed then I waited around hoping to meet Colbie. While I was waiting, I asked one of the security guys to get a setlist that was still on the stage and he got one. Then a lady that worked at the Theater came over to talk to me so we talked for a bit and I asked her if there was any way I could meet Colbie and she said she didn't think that would be a problem so she went to talk to her people. About 30 minutes later, she came out so I waited for her to make it over to me. She came over after a bit and I was able to take a picture with her and have her sign my setlist. It was an awesome night and I really like that venue. The people in Ventura seem a lot nicer than people in L.A. everyone was very friendly and helpful except for the guy that wanted to take my camera. I'd definitely go to see another artist I like if they were playing at that venue.
-
I'm probably the only one to think she's one of the most overrated artists this year. "Bubbly" has been done before, in much better ways (ie. "Who's to Say") and she has a "meh" voice.
I don't see what the big deal about her is. I think it's because there hasn't really been anyone (or at least a female) in the Western mainstream that has an acoustic style.
-
I want to see Colbie live ....I hope she comes around here.
I also want to go to seattle.....
damn thing called money.......

You may not like her and you're entitled to that opinion but Bubbly is unique. I don't hear any similarities between WTS and Bubbly.
It may be true that her looks probably increase her popularity but there are plenty of acoustic style female artists
-
Oh she looks like V to me. A LOT! 8O

ah jason reeves. <3 i've met him before... he's friends w/ my friend and just wrote about 4 or 5 songs with tyrone wells... who is amazing as well. i've seen jason live once and he's really good. i'm surprised i haven't seen colbie yet.
-
I bought tickets to go see her at the HOB on February 7th.
-
I don't like this song, but this girl sings it better than Colby (well her voice suits it better I think, even though she has some rough points):
http://youtube.com/watch?v=PfptfI53OFI
Colby seems too old to be singing it... it's an immature song.
-
Since when did having crushes have an age limit?
-
Idk, the song is just too "cute" for me... and I like V's songs a lot bc they are cute. But repeating "it starts in my toes, makes me crinkle my nose" in the chorus is just too much for me!

I admit the song can give you cavities but I find it kind of endearing. It starts from a totally different appendage for us guys. :spank:
-
I'm not a big fan of Bubbly but i definitely love One Fine Wire. :D
-
I went to her show at the House of Blues Thursday and it was a great show. The only bad thing about the night was they wouldn't let me sit in front of the stage like I have every show I've gone to there. She did most of the songs from Coco but my favorite of the night was when she sang Turn Your Lights Down Low. It was awesome. I also like her version of Beast of Burden. Her voice really sounds good for those 2 songs. After the show I went up to the meet & greet to get my picture I took with her at the Ventura show. I'm going to hang it up on my wall in my bedroom alongside the ones I have with Vanessa, Joss, and Norah Jones. I just have to get my picture with LeAnn Rimes signed to finish my collection.
-
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
I just saw online she was doing a gig in Paris tonight in a small venue!!
Of course, it wasn't advertised ANYWHERE!!!
-
Oh Colbie is coming to Malaysia this March 14th!
I will definitely go!
Now how i wish Vanessa will come here :(
-
She's coming to Memphis the first weekend in May, and I've considered going if something else doesn't get scheduled over it.
-
Any news on the deluxe edition of CoCo? i think she should produce one since her album sold over 1 million copies.
-
I just want her to release Out of My Mind or Turn Your Lights Down Low on itunes or something. They're awesome live!
-
Bubbly is #1 on the official Australian singles charts. :D
-
Her CD 'Coco' has already been released in Aus and New Zealand and
it'll be released in the U.S on July 17th so when you get it be sure to
check out every single song because they are all fantastic in their own right.
Strange but the ARIA Chart for Album sales this last week show Colbie as
a debutant at #49. (http://www.ariacharts.com.au/pages/charts_display.asp?chart=1A50) I thought for a second I'd been living under a rock until
I saw the Chart; is that a promotional copy of 'Coco' you are referring to?
Either way, the success of her material down under has to be a good thing
for herslef and fellow 'American Idol rejects'. Anyone that can be confident
enough in the values they represent before steping into a record deal now
-adays where so often a producer leaves the most interesting material on
the floor of the recording studio, deserves a break. Go get em girrrrrrrrl
Peace
Aaron
-
Her album Coco was indeed released last year in July. The reason it "debuted" at #49 is cos she never had enough sales to appear on the charts. This is her first week where she actually sold enough copies to enter the top 50.
-
I'm sure that condition is somewhere in the fine print on the ARIA site. At
least now Colbie will have the added advantage of nice looking figures to
boot, and cause less confusion when you ask someone for some Colbie >

i was able to watch one of her shows here in the Philippines last March. it was great! i had my CD signed by her. she's beautiful and nice.
i love listening to her album because the songs make me feel good. :D
-
I can hear "bubbly" on the radio. Beautiful song! :D
-
I saw her in Memphis last month. She's all right. :)
-
I'm seeing her in Paris on June 27th!! :D :D :D :D
-
Her show in Paris was great!!
She seems to be a pretty shy person though.
I did manage to have a picture taken with her! :D
-
Sweet. All of the current listings of tour dates are for the U.S. Any idea when
she's likely to return down under? Her popularity here is definately growing!
Peace
Aaron
-
Well, I know she's coming back to Paris on Sept 18th (it's not listed yet on her myspace but I already got my ticket :D).
The craziest thing is she will be playing in Tokyo when I'm there on vacation!!!
-
i hope she comes back to the Philippines. i want to have my picture taken with her! :D of course, i want to hear her sing live again.
-
She advertised that she was going to have an official fanclub on her MySpace and the first 500 to sign up would be declared founding members and their names would appear on the new site so I joined and made the cut somehow. :dances: I'm just waiting for the site to go up. :D
-
I joined like a month ago I think? (right when she posted about it on myspace)
Are the names up yet??
-
Not yet. Did you get the e-mail telling you that you're a founding member yet? I have no idea when the site is going up. I was shocked I made it since my order # was kind of high despite ordering in the first 2 hours after they fixed the ordering glitch at the site.
-
I said that I kinda half-saw her at a music festival back in May. Well, I finally got 'Coco' in a couple days ago and just got done listening to it for the first time, and I think I kinda like it. I know I like her voice, and most of the music is really pretty, and the lyrics are good (at least the ones I heard because I was twinking mistakes in a journal while it was playing). I'll probably have to hear it a couple more times to tell for sure if it'll stay off the shelf for long, though.
-
Not yet. Did you get the e-mail telling you that you're a founding member yet?
Hmmm, nope, I didn't. Did you?
I just checked and I joined on Nov 7th.
-
Yeah I got mine so I don't think you made the first 500 if you didn't get it. I ordered on November 6
-
Woohoo, I'm a founding member of the fan club!! :D
The new site is open and it's pretty awesome!
 www.colbiecaillat.com
-
Not a huge fan, but she's alright. I saw her MTV Cribs and her parents house seems so cheerful and comfortable, it's no wonder she writes lots of breezy beachy feeling songs.
-
I've had two months lo listen to her album several more times, and I've decided I love it! Her voice is smooth and sweet like dulce de leche, her songs are beautiful, and the production on the album is beyond excellent! :D
-
According to her website, she started recording her next album last february ! She's written about 30 songs over the past year and a hald and is recording them all ! I really hope the album will come out this summer !
-
Colbie just opened a Twitter account and she said a couple of days ago that she was in the studio recording her new album!! Exciting!! ;D
-
That's great! You know, anytime I start a new stereo setup, Coco is usually the first thing I play on it to test it because it's such a superbly produced album. The sound is flawless and beautiful!
-
Can't wait for All Of You to be released. I heard a leak and it's amazing!!!
-
I'm seeing her next month in Anaheim
