Does anybody know which type of piano Vanessa seems to use the most? In her music videos, I know that a couple of them don't actually work, and I've seen her on a Yamaha a couple of times... but I'm still curious to know. ;)
-
im pretty sure she almosts always plays on a Yamaha...
the piano in her apartment is a Yamaha :)
-
Yeah, she always uses a Yamaha.
I hate Yamaha pianos. :? It's hard to find one with a nice tone, the majority of Yamaha's I've played are really bright sounding. And I hate piano's with a really bright sound.
Bösendorfer's are the way to go.
End rant. lol
But Vanessa's piano has a really nice tone, and I love the accents and design work around the sides. It's pretty to look at too. Haha.

Bosendorfers are THE BEST!!!! Thats my Dream Piano, I love them!!!
PEACE!
p.s. I have a Nordiska, which is the best piano you could possibly get for your money! [Its about $7,000] ;)

i love yamaha pianos...i love the bright sound :)
my dream piano is a Steinway.... right now i have a Hoffman and Khune....and its okay...
-
The piano Vanessa has in her apartment has a really nice sound to it.
-
Yea I don't like pianos with bright sound either... I like Steinways and most nice uprights.
-
Yeah, I don't like Yamaha either. Way, way too bright sounding. I had to choose between a Yamaha and a Steinway.. You can guess what I chose lol
-
I think my favorite piano is a steinway... but bösendorfer is an amazing piano too... I believe that Tori Amos uses one..... Vanessa played a yamaha on tour with Stevie. The one in her appartment was specially made for her to get her the rght tone, and the molding stuff on the side. It is like the one she played for Harmonium on the tour.
In the studio I remember that she had a Stenway and a Yamaha...I am not sure wich one was the upright, and wich one was the grand
-
ooo that was custom made for her??
lol im soo dumb....i looked all over the yamaha site to find hers...no wonder i didnt find it...hahaha
-
I have a Kawai upright, it's fine but I really want a new Steinway or Yamaha.

:o When I saw that she was using Yamaha in a couple of those videos, I thought to myself, you can do better than that. Guess she did manage to juice it up a bit, but... to each his (her in this case) own. :\

Come on, guys, she endorses Yamaha. Go to their website, you'll see her picture come up. Yamaha supports her on tours with equipment, which is very, very important as you could imagine.....all part of the business.
There has been a Yamaha vs. Steinway debate since the dawn of time and there always will be. They are almost different instruments. Pianos, even within the lines of the same manufacturer, can sound wildly different. I've played Yamaha, Wurlitzer, Baldwin, K.Kawai, Kimball, and Steinways in the studio, and all sounded great, yet with a vibe all their own.
For the record, the piano on BNN was a Yamaha. If they were not up to scratch, from a performance or support standpoint, I doubt VC would use them, or that top LA studios would track with them.
When you add it up, that Yamaha makes drums, guitars, amps, digital recording consoles, world-renowned pianos, wave runners, and motorcycles, and remains competitive in all these markets, it's simply amazing.
That being said, it's all opinion. Play what you love!

Hey, nothing against Yamaha; I like its sound, it's just a bit too bright.
Hm, BNN was recorded on a Yamaha... well that explains why A Thousand Miles sounds best on one...

She has a Yamaha. I don't really like them at all, but the design of the Yamaha in her apartment is gorgeous!
