Ty is on the April cover of Atlanta's Jezabel magazine it says he got kicked out of his house when he was 15 and started doing carpentery then went to art school, did some acting/modeling, back to carpentery and the show
Amy Wynn is my home girl
laurie uses beautiful rich fabrics
hildie is adorable she is on crack but lately things have looked pretty
doug is crazy but most of the time comes up with awesome stuff
So - if i were on the show i would want it like this ----
work with Gen on friend's place
have vern do my living room
have ty be the carpenter
and have an amazing time!!!
and i will tell more when i think about more!

my mom watches that show all the time...........I'm more of a cartoon man myself though :wink:

OMG! I have been addicted to that show for about a year now! Hate to admit it, ya know... My all-time favorite is Hilda! She is so cool! And funny too! I also like Genevieve (sp?) and Ty! Ty is cool! :)

Yeah, I have to say I dig this show. I've watched it since it first started in America and occasionally I watch the shorter British verison on BBC. Vern and Gen are my faves as well, along with Ty as the carpenter.

I love that show, however, I had to force myself to stop watching it because I wanted to do all kinds of crazy stuff to our apartment =)

I can't tell you how much shit my wife and I have done to our place becaus eof these shows.. and it all looks good and you realize it's all pretty cheap to do too...

I can't get enough!!!
I really like debbie travis's new show that is like while you were out - because she does incredible drastic stuff with huge crews in like a few hours.... It is great!

I have watched TS since the beginning. Remember Dez, that crazy lady who wore funky hats and made those tacky lamps? Well, i'm sure some people liked them but i definately don't. And please join me in saying that Paige is a million times better than Alex!!!!
TS is a huge favorite among students on campus! Every day at 4 you walk down the hall and hear it in at least 6 rooms. And Satruday nights we get together to watch TS and What Not To Wear (another of my favorites. My resident's aunt is going to be on it soon!) in the lounge and eat popcorn and pizza. The RD's are doing TS with their offices as a staff development, and as a floor social my girls are decorating the floor above us and another RA is decorating my floor. We gave the DVD away as a prize at one of our programs a few weeks ago too.
~I have not liked one room Hildi has made since the beginning.
~Frank can get a little wild, but for my mom he'd be perfect since she loves country decor. I liked the India room he did the other week.
~I like Kia! Borders are my thing! I'd love to have her do my bedroom.
~Vern is a cutie and a perfectionist, just like me! :lol: He does great rooms.
~Gen is fabulous, I loved the Cuban room and the moss wall.
~Laurie's color schemes and fabrics are to die for! I like brown! :wink:
~Doug seems like a dick to work with, he has no regard for what the homeowners want. I think he holds the record for making the most women cry because of his designs!
~I do not like Edward. Enough said.
~Amy Wynn is ok, she doesn't have a lot of personality. She makes great furnature.

and even though we had this discussion at lunch today and jason(pint) and andrew (grakthis) liked alex --- I LOVE PAIGE soooooooo much more!
Dez had rooms that were completely mismatched and she got sick on one episode and didn't do a thing the entire episode -- so glad she is around no more ----

I'm giving this one a bumpity bump, and adding my 2 cents about the DVD! It's a riot! The Best of Trading Spaces includes love it/hate it reveals, the designers get individual montages of clips from various shows, bloopers, homeowner montages, and extended project sequences. I discoverd while watching the clips that there are several I haven't seen yet that TLC rarely airs! It's definately a great rental for those who watch the show occasionally, but if you're like me (Or Steph, or Jason, teehee) just buy it because you will be watching it more than once!

definately on my top list of dvd's i must have!!! I also really want the new book - i have read it at the bookstore a bunch of times and love it!!! plus they are going to be coming out with their own series of home improvment books...yippee

I met Ty this weekend at the Atlanta Home Show - he was suppposed to do a seminar on how to make something but he just did a hour long question and answer session - there were a few hundred people there...and i sat about 5 feet in front of him on the floor and i got to ask him a question - and everyone thought it was funny although it really wans't that funny - but he laughed! - and afterwards he signed one of my trading spaces books and took a pic with me... I hope it turns out because some guy took it and he only took one.
my question was - "is it hard to say the words caulk and homowner with a straight face when you have to say it repeatedly" - he replied with a long laugh said now it will be - and preceeded to tell a stories about all the designers and production staff that say bad words and slip up -and I also got to ask him "do you watch monster house" and he said - he loved that show
I will post the pic if it comes out when I get it developed.

also - if you have a costco card the books are $11.50 there and $20 anywhere else you go - so buy them at costco if you want them - they are really good!

LOL - one more thing
doug normally is off the wall - but his designs are cool and I feel his design and still think they are fabulous - but did anyone watch this weeks episode his room "prison of love" I could not stop laughing - he is nuts - I - thought I would stop breathing when he brought out the toilets - i was laughing so hard!

I don't watch the show but I was watching The View today and I guess this lady used to be on Trading Spaces, well she needs to get off The View cause she sucks. Sorry I totally don't know what her name is so I probably should have kept my mouth shut. Sorry.

yep Alex Mcload - she was pretty bad someone asked at the home show about her and ty said she was the most high maintenance person he had ever met and she was on the first joe millionaire - she was the host ---

Yeah, the Prison of Love was totally out there, I would be soooo upset if he ever did anything like that to my room! And Alex McLoud SUCKS, I saw her on the View this morning too. I can't wait til the 100 Grand show!

i like that show!! it's fun to watch...
i'd let them decorate my room, because i hate it how it is now! my mom has never let me decorate my room... lol, so it has pink roses all over the walls and i hate it.

Ty is on Hollywood Squares this week and on Monday at 8 p.m. there is a follow-up Trading Spaces show called "They Hated It!' about rooms that were decorated that the homowners hated and what they did about it. Haven't you always wondered................?

Trading Spaces is sooo freaking awesome! i'm so jealous you got to meet Paige! And i really couldn't care less if Ty is 37 or not, he's so freakin hot! ugh, Alex...*Shudders* i started watching the show after she ended hosting, and i'm glad, because i saw one repeat episode with her on it, and her voice makes me want to drill blunt objects in to my objects.
Anywho, i love Gen, Frank, and Vern's designs the most, then it'd be Laurie and doug, and lastly Kia and Edward.
Anyone watch the new spinoffs of TS? i started watching the Family style TS, but it was really annoying. I haven't seen the College one though....

the $100,000 episode is Sunday Oct 5
I thought they were going to do big famous homes but they are not, they are taking a regular episode with regular people and surprising them with the big budget
I wish someone would surprise me with a big budget
I read somewhere that it is in Massachusetts and Doug is doing a kitchen, each designer gets $50,000, not hard to spend $50,000 on appliances, cabinets and countertops

Does anyone have any predicitons for the rooms? I think Doug will do some geometric pattern on the wall and Laurie will paint the walls yellow as usual. I swear that woman has never heard of purple!
Hmmm... The They Hated It special was a little disappointing, I didn't realize they were going to show the whole episodes, I thought it was going to be more like the Best Of DVD where they'd show clips and then have the interviews with Pam and Jessie and Lurie and Doug and such. Oh well, it was good anyway, I love it how Jessie kept the brown and orange room, HA!

I never watch Trading Spaces....
but I heard that tonight's episode had a hero of mine from my highschool days. Dale Oliver, he was the guitarist for BlackHawk in the late 90s. Now he's a session player in Nashville.
And his family was one of the families on tonight. I didnt see it but it reairs tonight and tomorrow, I got the VCR set.
