Title: Ordinary Day's Bridge
Post by: Scarling.Darling on April 09, 2003, 05:16:27 pm
Has anyone noticed that the bridge for Ordinary Day in the given sheet music is different from what Vanessa performs?  :?  There are some other slight variations in her songs as well. I've been trying to figure it out by watching the Rolling Stone's Exclusive Performance video and just became frusterated with small 10 second clip of it showing her hitting the keys. So I gave up. XD;; Sorry, it's just a small pet peeve of mine that irks me. Well... has anyone noticed it? I'm just curious.  :)

Oh... and I'm new by the way. Should've introduced myself earlier. But I'm just impatient like that. :P

Nah, I can't say that I noticed, but that's only because I don't know anything about music :-\ We have a ton of musicians, mayber somebody can help you out with it. Hope so.

Anyway, Weclome :)

I don't think they're errors Mike (excpet for the lyrical ones) they are just how the book decided to arrange the songs . . .

Name ONE other thing Joeyyyyyy, just ONE.  I bet you can't

Aren't we mister obvious today?

I have the very very begining of it tabbed out. Erm... It goes like this.

Right Hand
5|  c c     c c    c c   * c c    b b    f  f    e  e   c  c |
4| g g g g g g g g g *g g g g g g g g g g g g g g g|
Left Hand
3|c-----d-----d-----c-----c-----d-----d-----c-----|
2|------------b-----------------------b-----------|
Please come with me, see what I see

Erm, where the stars are there's a slight variation that I'm not really sure of. It sounds decent. But I know it's wrong... blaaah. The numbers represent ocatves by the way, they're counted from the left of the piano up. So the first octave from the left side of the piano is octave 1 and so on and so forth.

** NOTE: The b's are in the 4th octave. I couldn't figure out how to work that in the tab.   And all note's are natural... sooo, yeah.

Let's try it again. I messed up the bass line. I put in an extra d for some reason.  :?

Right Hand
5|   c c     c c      c c       * c c       b b       f  f      e  e      c  c |
4| g g g  g g g   g g g    *g g g    g g g    g g g    g g g    g g g|
Left Hand
3|c------d----------------c-------c---------d-----------------c--|
2|---------------b-----------------------------------b---------|
Please come with me, see what I see.

Hmph.

You can always delete (as long as nobody has replied) or edit your messages ;)

If you want the spacing and such to start formatted, you can also put it in "code" tags... like [ code ] blah blah blah [ /code ] which would result in something like
Code: [Select]
blah blah blah
NOTE: I added spaces so it wouldn't actually change it :)

Mike is master of the obvious ;)

I would pay good money if Vanessa would play her entire album solo on a MIDI keyboard and give us the MIDI files.  It would be like having her piano rolls right in your hands!

The book does add a lot of notes to make up for the lack of an orchestra where the piano doesn't play on the record.  I think that's okay.  There is also the occasional lyric wrong here and there.  If I ever put out a music book, I would have to edit it before it went to press because I wouldn't want people publishing errors.
