Yes! Completely agree! First time I heard, I was in awe of how beautiful it is, with the choir and when they just pause and then belt out the next line... so crazazily awesome!!!

If so, I was torn by Spring Street, Come Undone, This Time and Home. Unlike 50% of this site, I don't feel like More than This is the best song - i'd move it to the bottom quartile.

It's probably spoiled already (for me). I'm not expecting to like this album very much, judging from what I've heard about it and from Nolita Fairytale.

Post by: NoelleNC on October 03, 2007, 07:23:17 pm: I would say it's definitely not as dark as her past two albums. I think All Is Well would have been a good bit of variety for it, but I guess she was going with the whole theme of a person discovering herself and/or growing.

Everyone's favorite seems to be More Than This. I didn't like it at first, and it is starting to grow on me- but it kind of surprised me how much my mom disliked it. My mom likes Vanessa, but when that song started to play at first she said, "Pretty piano", but she turned it off after the first verse saying she was barely singing in key and it was impossible to sit through. I do have to agree that it's a bit strange sounding, but I think I might get used to it.

the only part i think is a bit strange sounding is the "trees grow so thick.."etc part...but once you listen to it a couple times you get more used to it. :D

It's like she's pushing the notes out hard instead of letting them come naturally sometimes. But she sings like that a lot. I think it's just her style.

The One was my fav. before the album came out but I don't like the album version as much as the live version. She was much much MUCH more passionate and emotional in the live version that I know so well. It is not captured as well on the CD.

I do like More than This but I agree, she is REALLY offkey in it - I don't know why she did this....

Spring Street is my least fav.

me too :( when i bought the album i like re-read the track listing on the back 3 times looking for it and was like noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

but it sounds like they mess with her voice on some parts of the track, but not others.... I dunno, it's really not a big deal to me, but it does make me scratch my head a little haha

of my fave three tracks on H&T, the others being 'More Than This' (which
has a melody likely to be as well remembered as ATM) and 'Home' @ #1!
