Which do you prefer? The studio version of "Hands on Me," track 2 on the new record; or the live version of the song, as sung by Vanessa at the 2005 US Open?
-
The studio version.
-
Live!
-
i'm torn between the two, so i can't vote. I loved the live version because it was a bit slower and more beautiful. I like the studio versoin because all of the instrument are in it. yet the strings are kinda sucky.
-
studio :D
-
I never really cared about the live version, is just not my type of song, but the studio version is really catchy.
-
I think they each have their merits and I love them equally.

Yeah, it's hard to say......
-
Definitely live. I think it's better with just Vanessa's voice and the piano. Same for The One, in my opinion!
-
The live version was very important to me back in 2005.
And the line she changed was one of the best.
"And all the constellations shine down on you and me" strikes far more emotion than "us to see"
I'm glad to have the studio version, but the original is where it's at.

I agree 100 percent! Why did she change that line?? Soooo much better "shine down on you and me" ... I never got that change.
It's funny. Everything about the song was better in 2005:
The title -- Put Your Hands On Me is about a million times better than Hands On Me.
The lyrics -- as explained above.
The arrangement -- This song is the perfect candidate for keeping the slow, piano-centric live version, MAYBE adding some strings in the studio version.
Overall, PYHOM had potential to be my favorite Vanessa song ever. Still like the studio version but it's not even in my top 20 Vanessa songs now.

The only thing that made me pick the studio version is because of the choir... hehe
-
The studio version was a huge dissapointment they screwed up the chorus by making it so upbeat this used to be one of my favorite songs but now...not so much :?

I personally think they changed it because of the word repetition if you listen to the 2005 version as beautiful as it is, there are a lot of me's in there

Yeah I thought of that myself... I think the word repetition is what made it so powerful to begin with -- I mean it's not like there is much legitimate rhyme in the song anyway.

can't choose.......each has their own little things that i like about them..
-
I love both!
But PYHOM IS my fave song!!!
Because for me it'll always be 'Shine down on you and me' so it's PYHOM and not Hands on me... I adore the arrengement in the studio version, but live is filled with much more emotion...
The live version would always mean more to me!! So... <3
