Title: Sticker on the Album Package
Post by: PutYourHandsOnMe101 on October 09, 2007, 07:14:32 am
The sticker on the wrapped album says, "Featuring the hits- Nolita Fairytale, Home, & The One featuring Stevie Nicks"

Do you think this means that they are planning on releasing The One as a single? I knew that Home was being considered through all of the magazine and online articles and I think it's a good choice but I've never thought about The One being released. It makes sense because I think the fact that Stevie Nicks is featured on it would get it more hype but I don't know what to think yet.

i wouldn't mind "the one" being a single. it's really nice.

release it as the third or fourth though.

I'm a little upset by that sticker. I feel "Hands on Me" needs to be the second single. While I enjoy many of the songs on the album, I think it's the only one that could really jumpstart this album.

the one actually has amazing lyrics... and a very neat vid could be made based on the song... so commercially it could do well as a single...

They're not locked into any single because of what's on the outside of the CD.  Putting Stevie's name on it gives it some cred.  Same with Lindsey Buckingham and Pharrell on Harmonium.

As much as I love "Home", I don't want it to be a single.
HOM would be better.

I agree that Hands on Me needs to be a single, but I think if they release Home next it will do well.  Especially if they use her music on Grey's Anatomy or something. 8)

I hope Home gets used for a movie, that way it can get nominated for an oscar. lol Vanessa could just fudge a little and be like, "Yeah, I wrote this song specifically with this movie in mind, blahblah." Haha.

IT CAME IN THE MAIL TODAY!!! So exciting...

okay, sorry, where was I???

I feel the same way - as soon as I saw the sticker I was like, no Vanessa, HOM has to be the next single!!!

As much as I love Home and The One, I definately think that HOM has the most "single" quality. It has the most potiential to make it on the radio.

That said, Home and The One would be great singles for other reasons. But they should come after HOM.

Of course they are not "locked" into anything. However puting a sticker on your CD saying that says that the following songs are "hits" is a bit presumptuous. You usually only do that if you know you are going to release the songs as singles.

I disagree. I think Home will be a GREAT single and that it's a smart move to make it a single. To get the attention of those who are not fans you have to give them something that they can relate to and I think Home hits home for most people. Hands on me is a wonderful song but I really think that audiences will embrace Home...possibly more than Nolita even (once again only because they can relate to it). But what do I know, that's just my opinion.

I can't wait to get OUT OF WORK so I can listen to the CD...this is driving me nuts!!

Exactly.  I don't think that a 2nd single has been chosen, it's just that putting Stevie's name will hopefully help it sell more, etc.

I dunno if that means it will be one of the singles....but im thinking there is a very good chance The One or Home will be one of the next singles, considering, they are also playing on her website.
I think the one would be good because of the stevie fans :)

I think Spring Street is the 2nd single, seeing that Nolita Fairytale and Spring Street are the only full songs on her website. The One, Hands On Me and Home are just samples  :D
