It's sales rank as drastically increased on Amazon.com during the past couple of days!
-
really?? i checked the harmonium rank last night...but i forgot what it was...lol
what did it used to bee?? it was in the 20 000ths right?? now its in the 8000's. Harmonium and BNN actually have a very similar rank right now :)
-
Blame it on "Heroes."
-
Heroes & Thieves:
Amazon - #180
Metacritic Rating - 76 (Pretty damn good for Metacritic)
Barnes & Noble - #65
iTunes - #12
Nolita Fairytale:
Billboard Hot Adult Top 40 - #31
Harmonium:
Amazon - #16,577
Metacritic Rating - 54 (Pretty not good for Metacritic)
Barnes & Noble - #17851
---
So, based on what everything is saying, number-wise, I think we'll be pleasantly surprised as to how well Heroes & Thieves does. #12 on iTunes is a damn good number. It's above Feist's album, which is on TV every other minute. I think we'll be happy with the sales.
-
This is not surprising to me, considering how much publicity it has gotten just in the promotion for H&T. In almost every interview she has mentioned Harmonium, so people who were interested in her new material probably went "Ooh there was a second CD? Cooooooool".
-
Heck yes! Harmonium is an excellent album so it's about time it got more recognition! :D

10/16/07
Amazon.com Sales Rank: #5,434 in Music (See Bestsellers in Music)
Moving up!!
-
great!!! ya it was over 6000 a couple days ago..
-
you know what would be hilarious? if Harmonium became as successful or more-so than either BNN or HaT :p
I think that would just be great lol... well the success of the album anyways, but hopefully H&T will do really well first :p
actually second thought, no because V's old label would get money from the sales :S
-
harmonium keeps rising...its at around 3000 right now :)

This whole thing confuses me does she still get the money harmonium's making even though she switched lables?

Well, I think she does, as a songwriter, the songs are still hers.
-
Yeah, she gets royalties because she wrote the songs.
-
ooo ok thanks.
hey how much money do you guys think she gts from 1 record sold. lets say the album is 9.99 how much do yout think she gets from that???
-
ooo ok thanks.

I think there are points to an album. I know that's how it was with TLC. They got 7 points out of 100 (I think). 1 point was equal to 8 cents, so 7 X 8 = 56 cents. Everytime an album got sold, TLC would get 56 cents. So if they sold ten million copies of an album, they'd get $5.6 million.
I think the point system is the same for every artist. Dunno.
TLC's label were assholes to them.
-
ooo ic ic..
ya that doesnt seem like very much... :S
-
Artists get most of their bling from tours, though.
-
And endorsement deals. For some of them.
-
ooo ok thanks.

I remember that on the LeftEye documentary. I think V would get a lot more. If an album was 9.99, I think she would get 1.50.
