Yea I second that... I e-mailed the station and asked if they were going to put it on youtube or the webpage... no response yet...
-
I'm uploading it now. Unfortunately the video and audio are a little off but it was a great appearance. She did 2 full songs. Nolita Fairytale and Hands On Me.

i like this performance of "nolita fairytale". she's switched it up a bit! 8O very nice.
-
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! i caant wait too watch it :)
-
can anyone rip the audio from "nolita fairytale"? it's her best performance of the song to date, imo. it's more jazzy and vocally, she's much stronger than she was on Regis or Jay Leno.
<3
-
Um, I really don't like the new arrangement on piano. :? The bridge sounded horrible.

thank you soo much!
Hands On Me is just beautiful 8O

It was different but I personally liked the Leno performance better.

Yeah me too, it was waaay better. She tried to funk it up but it just ended up sounding really choppy and not cohesive at all. It was pretty bad.
-
i've uploaded it to youtube (thanks again, steveau)

I like how she switched it up on Nolita Fairytale. Hands On Me was great but I was really looking forward to hearing her with the band on that one too! :?

omg i felt SO bad for poor vanessa, some of the piano keys weren't working on Nolita Fairytale... namely the most important ones and it sounded like she was just hitting the same key over and over again :( her eyes kept like staring at the people like she wanted to be like "HELP ME"" but no one did anything..
i'm glad she did hands on me, and in such a nice little setting, and without all the overdone studio sounding percussion and backup vocals. one of the best performances of 'hands on me'' i've seen!

I paid more attention watching it again, and yeah, there definately is something up with the piano, in the begining you can see her shake her head and mouth like, "What's going on."
-
Why oh why do some youtube videos never load for me??? usually the VC ones i really want to watch
-
I love the way she did the piano in this version of nolita fairytale!

yeah im sure, she was missing a note and it was the same one through the song and she was hitting it, but nothing would come out and she had this look in her eyes like she was waiting for someone to fix it but no one seemed to notice she needed help lol

srry. ya you are definately right...i just watched it again and you can tell shes like WTF??lol
-
yeah, i think it was definetley broke.
look at her face at 2:44, and when she hits the key in the bridge, no sound comes out of the major ones.
i wouldn't have noticed that they were broke though. i thought she was playing like that on purpose lol.
-
no way you can see it as soon as she starts to play it, the WTF is going on face! I remember this happened i think it was up in Ithica, Gina was at the show with me and her piano broke and was liek WTF left the stage all pissed
mike
-
I actually like this version of NF, even though it was accidental lol.
-
her voice sounded fantastic but oh man, I'm glad the piano broke and she didn't just decide to play Nolita that way. how awful.
-
ah the piano broke. how? or wait what?
-
Go here to download the mp3 of the live versions of Nolita Fairytale and Hands On Me that Vanessa performed on KTLA. And also a short interview is included.

thank you!

i remember calling Let (eclv) the nite her piano broke, it was total drama haha and she got in an arguement with her sister about something, all I know is Vanessa was pissed, and I remember calling Let and telling her.
mike
-
what happened? she just got up and walked off the stage? did she sing to backing tracks then or something?
-
she explained to us what happened and made it fun by having a sing along and she even brought someone on stage to play her broken piano with her, it felt like a circus and i'm sure to her like a nitemare, i felt sooo bad for her she looked ready to cry.
mike
-
lol, aw.

ooo crap that must've REALLY sucked for her :(
-
OMG!!!! if this was accidental... it was one magical mistake...!!!:P
The take on the song was very neat... even with the rattle like tambourine that guy was playing... is it there on the actual record?
But yeah her face was pretty much like... "Ok... Do I stop? Are you stopping...? Ok someones gonna say their sorry and fix this problem..." and she kept that face for quiet a while...lol...
Oh and her face when she says "I know, you know..." is all like... man this is gonna be bad... and then she gets back to the song...
-
HAHAHA i dont know if anyone has noticed this yet, but at about the 3:05 point, you can see a guy under the piano, and then crawl out..LOL
-
I just saw that LOL I wonder if Stevie knows about this kind of thing

No problem. I'm kind of glad I was able to share such a unique performance. LOL
-
I loved the hands on me performance. She puts so much emotion into every song. I felt like she wanted to cry towards the end of hands on me. love Vanessa! her live performances definitely rock nowadays!
-
Thanks Steveau!! :)
Seems like they are still trying to get the feel of what is going to work best. Definitely need to practice together more. Will be interesting to see what the tour is like. Loved Hands On Me.

I was wondering if the piano was broken on that, it just sounded weird to me. I was all "Mark needs to get in there and fix that ."
I <3 HoM. :)
-
Oh, wow. Poor girl. You can totally tell something was wrong. She looked down in this exaggerated way when she went through the intro a couple of times. And her face at 2:44 was hilarious. Poor girl.
Still sounded... okay. Hands on Me was fantastic!
-
But in HOM the piano sounds ok, :?
do you think they fixed it right after Nolita?
-
Thanks for the link. This video is further proof that Put Your Hands on Me is by far superior live than with a band [in my honest opinion].
-
But in HOM the piano sounds ok, :?

I think it was because they had another segment before she played HOM
-
Thank you so much!
-
THANK YOU!!!
Hey, anyone else think this might mean that HOM could be the next single??? I hope so, it is the best possibility (I'm not saying that this is the best song on the record, just the best possibility as a single)
I don't want to start another thread on what you all think will be the next single (we already have enough of those) but I just thought this could be a clue....hope so!
(or of course she could just be testing it out to see what the reaction is)
-
I think that was a pretty interesting instrumentation on Nolita Fairytale. :)

I felt so sorry for V, it's a pianists worst nightmare! I loved how she just carried on though. However, the best performance of HOM in my opinion. Thanks so much for the links!
