Vanessa said that the title of her album, 'Be not Nobody', came to her in a dream, and she insisted that they use it. Has anyone else here heard any other details about that dream?
I know John Lennon also said that it was revealed to him in a dream that his most succesful band would be called Beatles with an A.
-
well i didn't hear that. thank's for telling us.. really. i believe that kind of stuff 8O
-
yes, i believe the original title was to be "Rinse" but she had the dream and changed it.
-
I didn't know about the Rinse part, wouldnt that just be weird saying...
It's Vanessa Carlton's Debuet Album "Rinse"
that would probably guarantee "Rinse" as a single...

Nah... Rinse is a different album. She gets a deal. She records Rinse with Peter Zizzo. Some politics happen (think of that A&R guy she always gripes about) and she is dropped from the label. Rinse is never released. Fair picks her up. Records BNN. Or, at least that is how I understand things went.
-
That's pretty weird!
I have been reading up on this guy who is a psychic and makes Predictions threw dreams and i posted this on the other board but he has a Prediction called the VC Prediction and he predicted he would meet her about a year before her first album came out.
Maybe she is Psychic?

She has always said that she didn't want her album to be the title of a single, and i remember on MTV2 they always said it was called 'Rinse' and so she came on the boards and corrected it. So its not completely correct in saying that Rinse is a completely different album. I'm not sure if the peter Zizzo one had a name?

Not according to old versions of Vanessa's website. There was a "The Making of Rinse" thing up there for awhile. I have it mirrored on my site under "Extra." Check it out. It talks about the sessions with Peter Zizzo and how the album is going to be called Rinse.

It quite clearly says that the album was going to be called Rinse. Remember that the sessions she did with Peter had nothing to do with BNN. Totally different sessions. The production differences are really obvious.

I was just going by what she said on TRL (i think ATR day)...because they obviously asked her what "Be not Nobody" meant, and she said something along the lines of "I know its a double negative, and was going to be called Rinse, but I had a dream, and pushed them to change it"
(like i said this was ATR day which means it was a year ago, soooo if anyone has a copy of that interview, they could put exactly what she said up.)
-
I guess the Fair album might have had the working title of Rinse as well. In which case I'd be wrong. Which is impossible. ;)
Someone dig up that interview so we can know for sure.
It's still easier for me to refer to the Zizzo album as Rinse though.
