What version of ordinary day is your favorite? the recorded one on her cd BNB or the if we walk now we will divide and conquer this land?
-
I like the one she's been playing for the past couple of years: it's like half OD and half D&C version, it rules!! :D
-
I love the divide and conquer version.
Haha, on her demo tape I love it when she's like
Day-hey-vide and conquer this land.
-
i like the D&C version.
-
I like her rinse version the best.
My favorite line is "And you must...be." instead of "Can you you see?"

Oh yes, I love that part as well.
It's so much deeper than "can you see"

i think i'm one of the few people on this board who likes the album version better. :)
-
I always wondered why she changed the lyrics from divide and conquer to "don't you see your dreams....." Does anybody actually know this. She always seems to do the divide and conquer version in live recordings and I also like this version better than the album version.

Someone said it was for the september 11th thing with the twin towers, but i dont get how thats relivent...maybe im just blind.
-
havent heard the other version...ive only heard the one off BNN
Ill try to find her original demo tape
cause the lyrics she changed sound deep! :D
-
I think she changed D.C. because it came out during i time when our country was still mourning and trying to come together. I don't think people would have liked it if she said "Divide and conquer this land" even though she obviously doesn't mean it in some anti-patriotic way
-
thanks! That makes a lot of sense.
Also explains why she does use the divide and conquer lyrics again, considering the amount of time that has passed since then.

actually, where can i find this version??? and what is the actual lyrics?
i want to listen to it so badly!!!

I quite like the album version. I like her voice, it's sweet almost, and it has this naivety about it. As for the lyrics, I don't think a line or two matters much to me. :)

D&C becuase its the original way it was written.
