how is the new album doing? does it sell good? I have been living in the village without connection to the internet and without music shops for 6 months so I know nothing at all. Even though it seems that the album is not promoted, at least in Europe.I got my copy of H&T in Scotland and I was pissed off because the album is not on top shelves. It's a brand new album and there wewre only 2 copies under V's name. I got one of the copy. It's not fair I think that album has got more chances of being successful. they don't play the music though.

The album has sold poorly, but received praise from music critics. I think they're planning to promote Vanessa a lot next year. Hopefully she'll receive huge success with this album.

has it got at least good promotion. the first video is quite good. the song is not bad too. if it has sold poorly now I don't have high hopes for the next year. it won't sell better with the 2nd single :(

Promotion for the actual album only started on the day of its release which was too late, IMO.
And I think it will do better. "Hands On Me" is very radio friendly & catchy, and if that song does well then more people will be interested in hearing the album too.

if you ask me, they have promoted a lot for this album and for nolita. I am sure once 2008 comes around they are going to have an "army" ready to promote the living crap out of hands on me so it can do real well.
-
I don't think they could have promoted it aswell as they could have. All the TV promo started on the day of the albums release. Before that, we just had her mentioning it in radio interviews and on her pre-'H&T' tour.
"Nolita Fairytale" didn't get played by radio, didn't impact on Billboard and the video didn't get played on music channels much.

well i guess it has sold 41 000 so far acording to an irv interview someone read...

well someone (some article thing) said that Irv did not want this huge big like blow out sale of the album right away he wanted it released and than work up the release than start getting sales.

I think in order to increase the H&T albums we need to call the radio stations and ask them to play some of the songs from her album and ask them to say something like:
This is vanessa carltons song _______ from her album heroes and thieves which is on sale now. Go pick up a copy.
Or something like that. So make those calls and so will I!!!!!!!!!

I know. That's why I think they're waiting until February to release "Hands On Me". I think they're planning to spend a lot of time next year with V & her album.

you have to remember that at the same time, they don't count albums bought electronically. last time i remembered the album reached top five in the most bought iTunes albums and number one in the Pop section, don't worry, she's doing fine. just not as well as BNN but certainly going to do better in the future :)

I kinda like how she isnt the most popular artist. Cause when you go to her concerts they arent as big and you feel like its more of a one on one thing when you get to meet her after the show......in other words it feels so personal at the concerts because there arent thousands of people in the crowd.
LOVE YA VANESSA

Yeah, I think a whole lof of promo lies ahead. And if radio won't freaking play HOM. There's always some payola to be spend rotfl
