Hi.
I've just seen in eBay this: http://cgi.ebay.es/VANESSA-CARLTON-Hands-On-Me-RARE-3-Track-DJCD-Single_W0QQitemZ250205088398QQihZ015QQcategoryZ307QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD2VQQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p1638.m122
Does this mean that we'll have 'Home' as the 3rd single? I hope so.
Bye.
-
oooh, interesting! I predicted as much. Its a beautiful song
-
nice find!!
i think it could mean that much( home being the third singel)..but i really cant hear home on the radio...if it's any song (other than the singles), it's spring street i can hear on the radio..
-
I ordered this!
This might mean "Home" will be the 3rd single.
I wouldn't want it too though cause it's my fav' song on the album and it's not very single-ish.
-
lol I love how people are like, "Home is my favorite song on the record but I don't think it'll make a good single!"
That doesn't make any sense. It's people favorite song because um, it's a good fucking song, and everytime I pop that CD in my car everyone's always telling me to skip to "Home". I think the fact that it's an awesome fucking song that nearly everyone takes too completely negates the fact that people doubt if it'll work as a single.
It's different from all the shit we're hearing on the radio now, it's fresh, people will take to it - more so than they will take to Hands On Me I think. Home just needs the right tie ins - getting featured in a movie, etc.

I agree it can make a great single! There are always song that I hear the first time and think aw its going to suck on the radio then it blows up and stuff!

Couldn't agree more. Home is just perfect. I think people will love it.

I completely understand why people would say that, though. It IS a great song, but it's not radio friendly. You need to listen to it a few times to fully understand it and fall in love with it. There's no catchy chorus for a first time listener to get hooked on.
It's my favourite track on the album, but for the sake of Vanessa's prolonged career, i'd have to say it would make a poor single.
-
Huh. I find the chorus to be particularly memorable. I think it's as catchy as a ballad can get. My only complaint with the entire song is that I think there should be one more chorus at the end, but hey. lol It's still good. It kind of makes me think of "Say It Right" by Nelly Furtado, it's an amazing song and all but the chorus only plays twice, then goes into a bridge, verse and ends. THERE SHOULD BE ANOTHER CHORUS. lol Like, you're expecting it and it doesn't happen. Anyways.

The reason I think "Home" wouldn't be the best single is because the song feels really personal.
I am in love with the song like crazy and there's a part of me that doesn't want it to be shared with the general audience, like I feel they don't deserve to hear it without getting the album. I know it's a weird concept but that's my explaination.
I think "Spring Street" is very radio-friendly and would make a good third single IMO.

I think fans naturally feel that for artists that they love. We want them to be successful and sell a lot of albums, but at the same time, we don't want everyone jumping on and off the bandwagon.
-
i saw that too and it looks kind of fake, but whatev, it is still V!
-
When it comes time to release a major release reps and promotion teams get together and choose 'stand out' songs with the artist and it's management. If the albums a hit, these songs will most likely be the singles......tons of indie bands advertise the three strongest tracks on the album for the sole purpose of...you never know if your album will take off or not! I think every song on this record is amazing and has 'single' quality but it's not always up to the artist alone...especially when theres a label involved..it's the artist and then-the label.
I'm just glad she's getting a second single this time round'! ;)

oh you want people to shut up about the next single, don't you? well how about you shut the fuck up for a change.
-
Hmm the beginning is really slow. I don't know how well it would be received as a single. I think she or her promotion make awful single choices, but whatever... I still say she wouldn't be in this predicament had she released "Who's To Say" instead of "White Houses"
And on a side note, Better Than Ezra had the song "A Lifetime" on an older CD and never released it... put it on a newer CD, released it and it became a huge hit in 2006 or whatever... it can happen.... releasing "Who's To Say" that is ;)))
-

I received the cd and I can tell you it's not fake: it's an official promo cd from Universal Music.
The cd is sealed and watermarked (to prevent internet leaks I guess, not that it matters since the 3 songs are from the album, oh well...). It also features the person's name and the cd # on the cd itself. (mine is #35)
-
oh....i guess that the HOM promo and the radio cd are different then.

lol Way to respond to a post made 3 weeks ago. And fyi, I'm not making posts about the next single in every single goddamn thread nearly every other day like some other people are, sry for making ONE post discussing it 3 weeks ago before becoming annoyed with the constant drabble about singles.
AND SOMEONE CALL IN THE DRAMA-LLAMA, Samantha's throwing the f-bomb like it's 5th Grade as usuall. See, the more she says fuck the more she's able to communicate that she's ~angry at the world~. Pay attention to her guys, she means serious business. lolll
-
you kind of say fuck a lot too, foxes... in fact, you say it more in the post she quoted than she does in her reply.

But I never swear when talking directly to another member of the board, if I address someone I tend to not swear at them (It may have happened a few times lol), which is the opposite of what Samantha does and she also goes out of her way to attack members on this board. In regards to my post, she didn't actually respond to anything I said, she just told me to "shut the fuck up" in response to something that occured in a DIFFERENT THREAD, because she's a stupid bitch. Simple as that.
