my old Choir teacher from my senior year of high school, her baby boy has been going through chemo since a little after he was born because of a tumor in one of his eyes. I think he's like 2 years old now, i'm not positive though. but he's really young & has been in and out of the hospital since they found the tumor.
his parents have a carepage for him where they give everyone updates & he has a 105 temperature, his heart rate is way above what it should be & they took him to the intensive care unit. if you guys could pray i would greatly appreciate it! i haven't seen my choir teacher since high school, but she was one of the best teachers i ever had she definitely doesnt deserve to go through this. ugh why do bad things happen to good people?
i'll keep you guys updated when i hear something new.
UPDATE Thursday the 24th:
They just updated the page & said he hasn't eaten in 6-7 days. I got a little teary eyed when I read that. But apparently in the middle of the update he started jumping up and down in his crib and acted like himself again, so hopefully that's a good sign. There's a lot of info. to take in, but hopefully he's getting on the right track. I'm just scared that he hasn't eaten in 6-7 days. So for those who like to pray for specific things, pray that he starts eating again & continues to act like himself. Thank you. I REALLY appreciate all of your guys' thoughts & prayers.

Yeah I didn't know it was possible either. But his dad had it & so thats how he got it. It's really sad.

Maybe they should just take his eye out and let him be a badass pirate.

I've seen a baby with a tumor on its eye. I think it was on TV. She ended up ok. She was actually really cute either way... well a bit cuter once it was gone, I'll admit. :)

They have been contemplating on whether or not they are gonna take it out. But I think it's just a really hard decision for them.

My little sister has Retablastoma (eye cancer) too.
She was diagnosed when she was just a few months old, and we took her to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
She is now 9 years old, and is healthy! :D
She is not fully cured....but she is out of the woods.
Her eyes were able to be saved due to radiation and chemotherapy.
So, there is plenty of hope that he will be cured and be able to live a normal life! :)
I will keep praying and ask my friends to join in with me. :)
If you are in touch with your teacher, suggest St. Jude if she hasn't already thought of that, it's an awesome hospital and my sister even LIKES going back for checkups every year! :razz: :lol: :D LOL

Yeah Retablastoma, that sounds familiar I'm pretty sure that's what he has.
I don't think they would go with my suggestion if I suggested another hospital, but thanks for keeping him in your prayers and asking your friends to pray too. That means a lot. And thanks for telling me about your sister..that makes me feel a little better.

thats soooo sad, i hate when kids [well all people but kids effect me the most] get sick, its terrible! I will keep him in my prayers and i hope he recovers completely and quickly!

my sister was like that too....
she didnt eat anything cause the chemo made her muscles weak and then shed just choke...
but she did eat when got really hungry....and she was breastfeeding then too....i hear that it helps...
