so i was on ebay and i found this that looks almost exactly like the picture on the homepage that you click on to enter. its beautiful.

Yeah they used to be extrememly popular, and quite the fashion accessory.

Yeah, those brooch things pop up from time to time at jewelry stores. They're pretty.

I find it really bizarre though, that they used to be sort of mourning objects, used to remember dead people in Elizabethan times (apparently the English were really obsessed with death in the 19th C) so the picture in the center was made in the likeness of a dead person. And now they're manufactured in bulk as a fashion accessory.

It's a bit creepy and I try not to think about it too much.

I don't get it. What do Elizabethan times have to do with the 19th century? Are you talking about Victorian times?

My mom has a ring like that and my Grandma has a pin thats almost the same...its cool...cant wait til i can get my hands on them! :lol: :lol:

I have a ring and a pin like that, wear them mostly during the winter time.
They're called Cameos. They're so Victorian-esque i love it.
