I'm suprised that Vanessa didn't tour more for this record. It hasn't even been a year since the record has been out and things seem done. I understand that with more sales and stuff that would lead to more shows..but still. Harmonium got more shows than this album....I'm hoping she does some more shows before she starts work on those scores. Cause I know those will keep her locked up for a while.
Heres to wishful thinking for Winter 08 and on to 09!!!

yeah. at least she's taken some time out from her busy schedule to say hi to her online fans.
-
although i admire her desire to resurrect the written note....it's 2008, it's not going to happen..the only thing you can do is embrace the technology and use it to your benefit.

Where's the message she gave to fans?
-
The last official update to fans was in December of 07' and it's posted in the 'Official Vanessa Carlton Posts' Section on top of the main page of the forums.
V's long pregnant pause once again. :)

Where's the message she gave to fans?
sarcasm. she's appeared to be quite not-busy but has remained totally out-of-touch.
-
i hope she does more concerts and records a new single or something. i hope she does the recordings in san fran again too.
-
i doubt it. she was in san fran because stephan lived there and he was her producer. i think it's pretty likely she'll do her next recording (if any) in new york.
-
that would make sense. i saw stephan on a HGTV show a while ago, he liked a house they remodeled. it was ironic, i just finished listening to she floats which he did the really cool background vocals with vanessa.
she loves san fran, so maybe.
-
she has a house in san fran why wouldn't she?
-
I think everything S & V did together was magical....I don't know what the status is of there friendship is but I hope they continue to work together musically....I think it's safe to say she'd probably record in NY since thats where she'd probably be doing the film scores as well. But time will tell. If she picks up those scores any time soon I wouldn't even think about a new record for a while.
Wow, two homes on two different coasts? Maybe one day. ha :)

Any local venues you guys think Vanessa and her music would fare well with? I'm really suprised shes never played the hotel cafe here in la.
it would fit her so well...so many great artist play here, artists played here when they didn't have a name and now tons are huge. ive seen katy perry, mandy moore, sarah b, tom morello, etc it's a great magical very small intimate venue and i think vanessa would fit right in....
what about you guys? know of any neat places?

swedish american hall-sf once again would be nice.
american music hall-sf is beautiful but kind of big but beautiful and captures the victorian vibe.
i'd love to see her in downtown san jose again, the bella mia was a great venue. and really pretty
-
i think when it comes to sf she'd fare well with bottom of the hill. even though it is a rock club, they do have some different talent play once in a while....
-
come on nessa- tour already!
-
She's already done two tours for this record, I thought that was a lot.
She did the Haunted Tour and then the other with Joshua.
-
Wow. My idea of a tour is a little different. She did 11 cities on the Haunted Tour and I believe 1 or 2 got canceled last minute(USA)...it was like less than two weeks...and the tour with Joshua was equally as short, and she wasn't the headlining act.....Although I am glad she did play all those shows..I don't believe she played on this record enough...regardless of sales if you believe in something your supposed to play it as much as possible, and keep at it...the way she did with harmonium. shes lost interest because of other possibilities with her music....it's obvious. she doesn't want to play for 'strangers' anymore..she wants to score films.

What is the latest on her scoring films? If I didn't like this chick's music I wouldn't still be a fan. I'm waiting for another work of genius from her. ATM was definantly something special.
-
I don't think we've been updated on anything other than her idea and thoughts of scoring films..shes mentioned in interviews that she was excited to go home(NYC) and start looking for work(scoring films). So we really don't know if shes gotten anything yet or not...she last updated us almost a year ago...so we don't know what to expect. I'm sure she will continue with sung music as well, shes too good @ it not too...besides ATM I think everything she has put out has been pretty epic...the public was just ready for it in 2002...the music industry and peoples expectations and ears have changed so much since then....people don't appreciate a real talent anymore....
I'm hoping for the best. Scores, music, anything...just hope she doesn't give up...but more updates would be nice. A year is a long time..especially since shes not touring.....I feel like I've said this a millions times....probably because I can...but should we care more than she or her management does? Thats a bad sign.
