so for spanish we were assigned a project, we can basically do anything, as long as it relates to spanish culture. so i really wanted to play the piano, so i need help finding a song that was either written/about/for spanish culture. ie a song played on the piano for dia de los muertos [which i would love].
thanks :)

I can't find anything about that, and it's Día de los difuntos, by the way.
If you want to find some Spanish piano music not related to that day, I can recommend you a few things.

Tu by Shakira is a very pretty song with strong piano. Here are two versions:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYegNSaDfOg (studio version)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYcFMjeQ-xU (live, as I prefer it)
I guess this is the translation. http://www.allthelyrics.com/forum/spanish-lyrics-translation/11236-translation-tu-by-shakira.html
She has odd choices of words sometimes, especially before she started to sing primarily in english. Her spanish songs are so much better though, I think. The MTV Live cd from 1998 or something is one of my fav CDs of all time.
edit: Ok, now I wanna learn this song haha. Thanks for helping me remember how awesome this song is!

Hi!
I recommend you the Strings and Piano version of 'Pingüinos en la cama' by Ricardo Arjona. It's awesome and I think the piano is quite easy. That's all I can tell about Latin American music, which I don't know very fine.
However, I can recommend a lot of things of Spanish music:
- '¿Y si fuera ella?' by Alejandro Sanz. It's very very known here.
- 'El Último Vals' and 'Dulce Locura' by La Oreja de Van Gogh. It was released this year.
- 'No me importa nada' by Luz Casal.
- 'Estoy'. I'm not sure about the composer, because it's been sang in Operación Triunfo (a talent show) by some cute boy called Iván. Search 'estoy ivan ot'. This song is really beautiful.
I hope it's been helpful.
Bye!
