Title: [Us magazine] Short review of ROTR
Post by: cassiemoy on July 20, 2011, 04:36:02 pm
Out: Tuesday 7/26

Us Rating: **1/2

Thanks to Vanessa Carlton, piano-driven pop music is alive and (mostly) well. True, none of the singles on her fourth album will live up to her inaugural smash, 2002's "A Thousand Miles." But the singer's gentle delivery and ivory-tickling excel on soul-searching efforts such as the blissful "I Don't Want to Be a Bride." (Razor & Tie)

what does Us magazine really know about music? (it's a tabloid right?  If not then I'm thinking of a different mag)

Yea it's cuz she's not naked in her new pics, pregnant, or killing anyone. Ha.

Tabloids annoy me.

Yeah, I wouldn't take my cues from Us Weekly.

It's interesting, though - the fact that they mentioned it at ALL is kind of a good thing.  Despite how trashy it is, a LOT of people read Us Weekly, so that's a lot of people who (I believe) will see that and go "wait, the Thousand Miles girl has a new album out? Oooooh..." then hop on iTunes and listen to the previews.

At least, that's what I do with music XD

it feels like they listened to two or three songs and then wrote this.
