More from the Marie Claire feature:
As Sergio Kletnoy treats himself to a much-needed cocktail of rom-com, a pedi and some bathhouse detoxing in this afternoon (Chic wonders: Where art thou, summer Fridays?), it's time to live vicariously like JoCo's assistant, from hanging with Vanessa Carlton and her pooch to romping around in the Marie Claire fash closet. For more Sergio--you know you want it, darlings!--head to @SergioKletnoy for au courant absurdity. J'adore!

Just finished an interview with Vanessa Carlton, who brought along her long-haired dachshund, Victor. Vanessa was in town promoting her fourth studio album, “Rabbits On The Run,” a dreamy, whimsical collection inspired by—get this—Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time and Richard Adams’ Watership Down. I’m obsessed with Carousel, the first single off the album, which evokes Stevie Nicks in all the best ways. Vanessa had been up since the crack of dawn and sweetly requested black coffee, no milk or sugar. (That’s how you know you’re dealing with a serious artist.) While I peppered her with questions, her dog found a comfortable place at my feet (dogs love me), patiently waiting for his owner to get on with her full day of press. Midway through our chat, my focus shifted to the palm of Vanessa’s left hand, which had scribbles all over it, Sarah Palin-style. Turns out that after seeing me, she was off to Rolling Stone for a private performance and had the lyrics to a Brian Jonestown Massacre song she’d be covering written on her hand. I had to laugh—it brought me back to my high school cheating days. And just like Vanessa, I was busted each and every time.
