I like my computer at college, but at home my mom has an iMAC from around 1934. It's such a pice of junk! I'm not bashin all you fine MAC people, I'm sure there are reliable computers out there somewhere.... as for me I will remain a PC person and let my comp shake what Hewlitt-Packard gave her.

i hate mine... lol

i like my comp, but it doesnt like me, hehe

I love it..., it can do practially anything. Especially like the fact that I can watch tv on it.

I used to hate my Windows ME box. Then I installed 98 and 2000. Everything was right in the world again.
I used to hate my Mac Classic because it was too slow for 7.1 Throw in 6.0.8 and all is well.
Seriously, most frustration with computers is due to a power of the computer/overhead of the os mismatch, or you have a lousy OS to begin with.
OSes to avoid: 95, any 98 other than SE, ME, and XP Home Edition.

I quite like mine at the moment. Hasn't gone wrong in a long time :) Chugs a bit though.

the 2nd OS i had was Win 98 i found it good
now i have Windows XP professional and it works perfectly
XP home is not quite different from the Pro one just less options and settings and admins stuffs but it should work good too.
For now i think XP pro is the best OS for me.
If you want your comp to work well it's easy : just take care of it, i clean coolers and the hardware once a month, make frequent scans ,antivirus scans , defragmentation (i dunno the english word)....etc

I can't do this poll. The "yes" option seems just a bit too geeky, and I'm scared to do the "no" option in case it's watching.
It does its job, you know. And broadband and bluetooth are the bees' bollocks :) It has an annoying habit of crashing after 5 minutes use though... not worked out exactly why but it always does it and after a reset it works fine for days. Weird.

Even better, stick a unix type OS on it and then you don't have to run all those babysitter scans on it ;) It'll just run.
Although, sadly, it won't clean your hardware for you. They should write that into the next kernel version.

well i don't know  i think that now i'm too used to my Microsoft landscape

Games wise, hardly anything. In every other software area, there are no problems. Plus you can always use a windows emulator and run any windows programs you like :) (sometimes faster than straight on windows)

Heh, I know what you mean. I used to feel the same way, then one day (after a million or so crashes) I made the switch and never looked back ;)

two words: dual booting :)
Unfortunately I have to write for windows so have little call for linux and don't have it installed. I get my command line bash fix from cygwin. I keep meaning to set up a ps2 linux box and network it with my windows pc. But then I don't.

Amen to that! My linux box is the dirtiest computer ever. I don't know how it gets that way. Knowing the Linux kernel though, drivers will be a problem. I don't want to have go out and buy a new Linux supported case to make this work! ;)

The best thing to do would be to have a PCI card with a sensor (to detect a certain level of dust) and attach it to one of those compressed air cans strapped inside your case. Then the driver can blast away the dust as needed :) Hmmm I suppose there'd need to be a case exhaust as well, to let the dust out.
Hey, that sounds like a marketable idea! Except that you'd get dust all over your desk :-/ Oh and there'd be an explosive compressed air can inside the hot PC :-\ Apart from that, I'm rich!

I really, really love mine. (self custom bulit). Its light years ahead from my HP pavillion I had for 3 years.

Mine isn't so great. The hard drive just ****ed up on the two days ago, but that's okay because I had just backed up everything and I was going to format it and start over, but now I get to go buy a bigger one!
